This was just the product we needed when our remote went bad. A big drawback was the need to go out during installation to buy an $18.00 battery , 2032 Lithium which you don’t usually have laying around. Would be nice if battery were included.

If you ordered the SS-T28 (black remote, black receiver) system, read on. The system works well, but there were a few things to be aware of. As noted, the remote does not come with the battery. You'll need a CR2032 coin battery. Second, if you're installing more than one in close proximity, you'll need to follow the instructions on how to properly pair the remote with the receiver. The instructions are almost fully accurate, but leave out one very critical piece of information. Prior to pairing, you need to take the back cover off the remote and slide the pin from the unlocked to the locked position. Then turn off the fans you don't want to pair with (turn off the wall switch, assuming you have a wall switch, otherwise go to the circuit breaker). Then turn off the fan you do want to pair with for 5 seconds (again, using the wall switch), turn it back on with the wall switch, then push the "LEARN" button inside the back of the remote. Repeat this for every fan you want to install. The instructions left out the critical part about sliding the pin to the locked position. If the pin is in the default, unlocked position, the remote will pair, but it will also control multiple fans. And I suppose if you want one remote to control multiple fans, that's the way to do it. I emailed the email address in the instruction guide for support and they replied within 24 hours with exact instructions. So -1 for not having it in the manual and sending it in a default configuration that isn't as useful, but +1 for being quick to clarify.

It worked as designed and was already programmed to my fan/light out of the package. I did have to buy a battery separately and install but it worked perfectly.

Great product! Comes with instructions and picture diagrams, wires are color coded. Very straightforward,people with little to no experience can do it. Dimmable option is fantastic and sets the mood in the room for relaxation. A+++ product

bought this for an existing Hunter fan and the remote interfered with a different fan in another room. probably not a big deal, but an electrician fixed it. it doesn't come with a battery either.

Very satisfied. The remote worked perfectly for me. Thankfully, I did not have to set the PIN code inside; the remote just worked. I wasn’t sure it would work because my original remote light button was grey, this one is green. They didn’t look exactly alike so I wasn’t sure it would work. I went a long time without a fan but I’m so glad I found a new remote.

This item seemed to have good reviews. Either the quality changed drastically or I got a bad one. Attempted to slide the back off to snap in the 9 volt battery required for use. Very stiff and difficult to do. Attached the battery to the terminal but it couldn't get it to work. Tried to remove the battery, to try another, and the housing for the wires, enclosed in the black plastic cover, fell apart. The battery would not detach from the terminal. I am sending this item back. Now looking for a quality remote control replacement, for our Hunter ceiling fan.
