WoodWickcandle medium Vanilla

I bought a 'crackling candle' from B&M a few weeks ago. Its crackle was a fairly subtle, background kind of noise - quite nice and relaxing. A bit like the occasional crackle from a coal or wooden fire would be considered relaxing.This candle, on the other hand, can be quite loud-ish. The best way I could describe the sound would be to say it sounds a bit like a deep fat fryer when the oil is ready and there's still a few bits of food left in from the time before, but a bit more muffled in tone than that. It can go quiet at times but once it ramps up, it's fairly noisy. It isn't an occasional crackle; it's full-on and continuous!I have followed the instructions carefully, i.e., burnt it for a few hours at a time and also kept the wick short.To be fair, this candle would be better suited to a large room where it might be a distance away from earshot, or in a room where there is normally a fair amount of noise anyway. But if it's only going to be a few feet away from you, or if it's in a normally very quiet room, it can be a bit overpowering. It's a personal preference thing - some people will like the decibel level; some won't. Unfortunately, it's not as subtle as I would have liked it to be.Also, worth mentioning is that 'crackling candles' can kick out a bit more smoke than regular candles so avoid putting it near a white or a lightly-coloured wall.As far as scent is concerned (Vanilla Bean in my case), it is very muted and not overpowering. There's more of a 'generic candle smell' than there is of vanilla bean, probably because they kick a bit more smoke out.A dinner party candle? Yes. A relaxing candle? No.

Came quick, perfect condition, and came with protective casing! Very much recommend. I bought this for my sister as she loves candles and WoodWick is one of the best brands in my opinion. It wasn’t too expensive and the quality is so good! The smell is amazing and doesn’t smell artificial, it scents up the whole room!

So excited to try these candles after hearing rave reviews about them from friends! I decided to get a vanilla bean fragranced hourglass and was slightly disheartened to receive the parcel with a small crack in the glass which I hope will not cause any problems in the future! Not sure if this was down to the delivery driver but maybe a fragile label is needed as I have read about this happening with other people's. On the flip side of that, I thoroughly enjoy this candle, the scent is so subtle yet sweet and not too sickly, sort of like the yankee candle vanilla but more grown up!I love the crackling of the candle when it's lit so much, it really helps to calm me down after a day at work.I am keen to try the cherry scented hourglass and will put in my basket when it becomes available, but for the meantime, very pleased with the vanilla! If you like a subtle sweet fragrance then this one is for you!

We usually buy the Wood Wick candles due to their scent and longevity and Vanilla bean is our personal favourite. When i saw the 'limited time deal' on the large candle, we had to stock up! The medium was £17.99, but the large candle was down to £14.11! almost half price from it's original rrp.Its a great candle. Crackles as designed and also leaves a great smell around the house (even when not lit).

I really like this candle. It smells good, made well and the crackling wick is cool. I am very sensitive to smells and it is difficult for me to find a candle that smells nice that is not to overpowering. I am happy to have found this candle. I will order again. I do feel it is a bit pricey.
