What’s the msrp on this card without scalpers jacking up the price?

Best answer is that the intended launch MSRP was targeted to be in the $11-1200 range. What the current msrp is on the card is difficult to pinpoint and largely irrelevant. It’s a great card for rasterization and AMD has come a huge way in a short span. I wouldn’t suggest any card at the current inflated prices but this card at the original target would be a great value at that level.

What is the difference between this card and the ultimate version?

The "ultimate" version is a higher binned version (i.e. selected for better overclocking ability). They also have different hardware identifiers which can be useful for virtualization. The standard has the same PCI device ID as a 6800XT and 6800 but the ultimate has a different one.
