Yes, it would hold a standard size deck of cards.

inside dimensions are (Id) 4 3/4" L x 3 1/4 W x 2 1/2" H so should hold pocket knife. My son uses as earing holder. I lined the inside with silky cushion for the jewelry. A pocket is a good place for a pocket knife :) has better uses from there.
