Nice and stylish!
This is super nice and cool looking! Easy to set up and did I mention it looks super cool! Nice heavy metal material, gorgeous design, led lights are added bonus. I used this in my ps5 and it’s the second m.2 ssd hooked up to the PS5. My only complaint and this is nothing against ASUS, is you can’t play PS5 games from it but at least the transfers from external to internal are super fast! 800 gigs took about 15-20 mins. I barely had time to use the bathroom and grad a snack. No regrets but I hope Sony releases an update where we can use an external m.2 with PS5 games.

Great NVME enclosure
I installed a Kingston NV1 SNVS/250G drive in this enclosure and I get around 700 mbps when copying from my WD Black SN850 1TB. Although speedy, I *think* I should be getting a little above that, even when accounting for USB protocol overhead. I mainly use it to ferry large files to and from my NAS, but I haven't fully tested it yet.It gets slightly warm during use, but it keeps the drive working well within spec. I like that it integrates with Asus Aura (probably the main reason I bought this, after the performance). It has a few lights but nothing too fancy. You control the lighting with Armoury Crate, which a bloated mess of an app, but it's better to have one bloated mess rather than several.Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase and would highly recommend if you are pursuing high transfer speeds and have other Asus Aura enabled devices.

Solid little enclosure. Love it
I have purchased many products from ASUS in the past and have never had any issues. This little SSD enclosure is no different. The aluminum housing is well made and gives me peace of mind that my NVMe will not be damaged while riding around in my backpack. The RGB is a nice little feature that draws attention when I use the drive in public. I can't speak for the speed of data transfer accurately because I have not monitored it, but I know that moving files to/from it goes by quickly.***Please take note***Don't be a dumb dumb like me. I stupidly put the drive in and put the screw in over it. Because of this, the lid of the enclosure never closes properly. After a VERY brief conversation with Asus and 20 minutes of shame-filled forehead slapping, they straightened me out by informing me that there is a groove in the thumb screw that the NVMe's notch sits in (see picture). Once I installed the drive PROPERLY, the lid closed and I have had no issues since. So, please read this review and remember, put the notch in the groove, and you will have a solid container for your SSD that is built like a tank.

Rugged and Easy to Use
As above, plus when plugged in, the colors cycle the the whole rainbow. It’s tough as nails and a great way to add an SSD MVMe drive for additional storage!Great product!

Wonderful Device
I was a little worried based on other reviews, especially concerning the comments about the screw inside for the SSD. They complained that the screw sticks up when the drive is installed, preventing the cover from closing. This is not true! If you read the installation instructions, you will note there is a slot on the screw that the top edge of the SSD is supposed to go into. You are not supposed to place the screw on top of the SSD! If you take a moment to look at the instructions, there is no problem at all. My Samsung 980 Pro fits perfectly inside and the performance is right on. I routinely see the rated 10Gbs performance via my USB-C4/TB4 data ports. The drive will get warm but not alarmingly so. I love that the enclosure's lights sync with my ASUS Aura system!

Very good drive
Very good drive! Almost perfect, except for the key needed to open case. Similar to sim tool used to open sim card slo0t on modern phones.Quality of materials is a top notchy. Dimension vise just a little bigger. I hade ADATA RGB external drive with similar quality and ASUS is bigger, but not too big.Tested with Samsung 980 Pro 1Tb. Achieved advertised speed with no problems.

Screw too long? Cover won't close? READ THIS! - UPDATE: Works for 4TB and 8TB SSD capacities!
So many of the reviews complain about the screw being too long, and the cover won't close. Read the manual, folks! There's a "slot" in the side of the screw - THAT is where it engages the memory card.See the attached pictures - one shows the slot in the screw, the other shows a proper installation.Something that's NOT in the manual - if the device "rattles" when fully assembled, it's because the included thermal pads are not thick enough to contact the memory card. I had to buy thicker pads, but they work great and this is one of the only such enclosures that permits thermal pads to be used.UPDATE: These beauties work fine for 4TB and 8TB SSD capacities!I really like these enclosures, although since I don't use the ASUS software to control the lighting effects they simply cycle through the colors of the rainbow. Hey ASUS, you could bring these even closer to metaphysical perfection if you made the lighting color depend upon the temperature of the SSD. Indicate the temperature range from cool to hot by showing us a color range from blue to red, thereby making the lighting functional - rather than merely decorative.

Used 2 years now it prompts that the drive is unreadable BestBuy was not able to read it - upsetting
I liked that it was very portable, but still it should have not stopped working after 2 years. Lost several files that could not be recovered.
