Lamp, Charger, Toy
The media could not be loaded. I was concerned when the box arrived damaged, but the excellent internal packaging perfectly protected the lamp. Each part (globe, base & riser, and power supply) was separately wrapped in a foam bag, with all three then nested in a two-piece poly clamshell which made the lamp almost impervious to anything short of full crushing. The parts unpacked easily, and it was time to power it up.The power supply is rated for voltages from 100VAC to 240VAC, and no mention is made of a Hz/CPS limit, so it should work almost anywhere in the world. The supply plugs into a socket at the rear of the base, almost indiscernible from a few feet away. The globe is then rested on both palms and gently raised toward its operating position; about an inch from the "cup" it's easy to feel the magnetic force take over, and the hands can be taken away as the globe begins to float above the base. It appears that power is inductively coupled to LEDs in the globe, as only the globe itself lights up; no batteries are required. The light can be turned on and off by means of a touch pad on the base; the globe, which is satisfyingly large, will continue to float, lit or otherwise, as long as the power supply is plugged in and energized. The beautifully cratered surface of the globe is not a mere reproduction of our own Moon; rather, it seems to be a fairly accurate representation of the third moon of the distant planet Radysshe, as seen in my attached photograph. Well, maybe not, but in any case, it's a fun, and very relaxing, piece to display on a shelf or desktop, and certain to be noticed. I love it.

Cool to look at and useful to charge your phone
I have a similar type of item - it is a C-shaped base that balances an Earth ball in similar manner as this moon one. The Earth one is just to look at as it does not have the ability to charge your phone. This is really cool to look at, but I'd love it if this could be color-changed to suit the mood of the house/room. I have a similar ball nightlight that the ball looks like the moon an it can change colors. I like the violet color myself - it's just such a soothing light and that was what I was hoping for with this hovering moon ball. The price point seems a bit high, but then I don't know what the cost is of creating that hovering thing...maybe that is what makes it cost so much more - I guess for those looking to give a unique gift, this would not be too far out of range. The hovering is cool, the phone charging is useful - unique, yet practical could be the argument to get it!

Charger doesnt work
The charger is extremely fickle. I was only able to find the charging spot once the first night. After that i have not been able to charge my phone with it, making it a very expensive night light

Cool conversation piece
I was a little disappointed that it’s not a replica of the real moon. The surface is distressed to give it the appearance of our moon, but there’s no attempt to recreate the crater pattern. Still, it looks pretty darn good and it’s a super cool conversation piece for your office. It takes a minute to get the hang of positioning the magnet, but after you get the trick it’s pretty easy. The light level is much like the real moon on a clear night. Bright enough to bath the room in soft light (it’s a GREAT nightlight) but not bright enough for use as a primary light source. One minor gripe is that the very top of the globe where the magnet works has a circular pattern that’s nothing like the authentic looking texture of the rest of the surface. It’s not terribly noticeable though, and depending on how high up you set it (I have mine on top of a bookshelf), it might not be visible at all. The stand and globe are all quality construction. Recommended.

Moon does not levitate!
I received this a a Christmas gift. I love the thought! However, the moon will not stay levitating. After a few minutes, it falls down. For this reason, I did not give 5 stars.

Absolutely Love It
Makes a great addition to my office. I'm not using it for phone charging, just a display in the corner. The picture I included makes the moon seem more than it is in person. It does have a blue tint but not as blue as it is in the picture. Trying to get it to hang/hover takes some patience at first but once you get it it's not hard to do. THere's a little metal stud that you touch to turn the light on and off through some kind of magic. Folks love it.

Missing parts
I ordered this product twice as a gift for someone. Both times it came without the adapting cable. Useless.

Pretty dang cool
Just about everyone has seen the moon lamps and this is a really cool take on those. The moon sticks via magnet to the metal piece or hovers under it as shown in the picture. It is very cool! The lamp itself is decently nice for the price, but the real draw is the magnet-moon-lamp! The base also serves as a phone charger. It charges my phone at a normal rate (not fast charge).
