The cheery and colorful cover projects are what spurred me to buy this book. Upon its arrival, only one additional project interested me, the Crossed Hobo Bag, which I doubt I will make. I have several books and patterns for the same items as those featured in this book. Unfortunately, for me, there wasn't anything new.Bright color, with a nod to geometrical designs, are the focus style, making it perfect for "modern" sensibilities. The Look Inside feature and displayed images really do give an exact indication of *every* project in this book. I was hoping for a hidden gem or two that wasn't displayed in the preview, which is often the case of the Look Inside feature. However this was not the case with this book, I should have trusted it. If you love what you see...trust it...you'll probably love the book!The project instructions and materials-list are detailed and easy to understand. The template for the hobo bag requires 200% enlarging but all remaining templates are full-sized.Have fun!

I’ve loved making some of the projects in this book as a beginner sewer. I look forward to challenging myself with other projects. Nice pictures, clear instructions. I like that the projects/designs are more modern than usually found in these types of books!

The contents of the book are great, lots of simple ideas and clear instructions for lots of gifts without involving hours of labour . Definitely would recommend it. My GREAT mistake was buying it through Kindle, never again, my Kindle is small and so it's very difficult to see the instructions in one go, have to keep on turning pages, and as happens with Kindle they are not numbered and you have to guess by the percentage where to find what you are looking for. Yes, I downloaded it to my computer but cannot print the full instructions, only the text, not the drawings. I'm sorry I didn't buy the printed edition.

I love the projects in this book! I bought it because I want to make the bag on the cover but the book is filled with really cute projects like a little zipper bag decorated with a machine appliqued fan pattern. The patterns included would require some experience with sewing. There is a section in the back of the book with some basic sewing skills used in the book such as satin stitch and edge stitching but it is not enough for a beginner sewer. Adding a zipper closure to a bag is a little more difficult than is covered in the paragraph included. So I would recommend this book for someone with some sewing experience.

This kindle edition is a terrific bargain and That Patchwork Place is on top of their game in presenting, in a very organized fashion on their website, actual size templates for printing out patterns for each project whenever you choose. The many projects are quick, clever, inexpensive gift items to shower on friends and family. My wife made two projects the same day that I downloaded the book for her!

I have made the pencil case which is on the cover of this book and it has greatly impressed my grandson - his mates at school wanted to know where it got it from.

Interesting and useful designs. Restricting use to non-commercial efforts limits it's usefulness to folks who might use it for church fairs or consignment craft shops (credits given to designer). Allowing a limited number to be used for such purposes would make it more useful; alternative would be to grant a license for same.

If you're a hand stitcher like me some of the projects might seem a bit difficult and finger-hurting, but the directions are clear, the ideas are basic but easy to follow...but yeah, loses a star because handmade? no...sewing machine made...yes!

A nice selection of small projects but unfortunately there are only two that interest me. Good for a greener although I feel some of the instructions are overly complicated. I would not recommend this book for a beginner.
