Rechargeable, volume knob sensitive, other headphones may not work well
This is a fairly good product. But there are some limitations:1. The volume knob turns about 270 degrees, but the useful range is only about 10 degrees and thus very sensitive. Rest of the range is too quiet for a person with normal hearing. If you are hard of hearing, you will probably have it turned up all the way anyway, unless you have recruitment issues.2. The earphones or headphones need to be low impedance, less than 32 ohms according to the instructions. It works OK with the supplied phones, but will clip the audio on ones with higher impedance. I used some original Apple earphones and vintage Sony $10 headphones and they worked well. If users were not picky about the earphones, they would likely be wearing a hearing aid instead. So, if they don't like the supplied models, you should keep this in mind. Earphones don't last forever with elderly users.3. Microphone picks up a lot of handling or clothing noise. All microphones do this to some extent, it's just this one seems to pick up more. I would say this is 6-10 dB more handling noise than the SuperEar. I have not tried the external mic clip, that may help somewhat, a lot of noise may be conducted through the case of the main unit.Rechargeable feature is great. I purchased this for an elderly relative, and they or caregivers don't always remember to turn off when removing. You can go through a lot of batteries that way.(Although I work in the audio industry, this is my quick impression as a end-user. I did not measure this in the lab, take it apart, etc.)

Noise.
They just seem to have too much noise for my mom to use.

Sound clarity for TV
I had trouble understanding what people were saying on the TV. This gives me clarity in the voices. The sound in the earbud is quite high pitched, so you don't want to turn it up to loud, but you can adjust the volume just enough to get the clarity in the voices. I also use it to listen to music on the computer and have better clarity.

Far better than Williams Sound amplifier.
This little unit outperforms the $189 Williams Sound amplifier, hands down. There’s no feedback issues, it has stereo output, the sound is crisp and clear, and it is rechargeable. My husband has been using the Williams Sound amplifier for 3 years and has been frustrated with it; too much feedback monaural, and terribly garbled sound. He tried this IRoger and could not believe the difference! It has much better quality sound, and it’s a lightweight compact, well made device. Highly recommend!

This thing sucks
This sucks the Mike either doesn't pick up anything Bart picks up everything even when you use it so it's directional if you have it hanging on your clothes or in your hand or anything the mic makes noise continuously from your movement and unless you put it right in front of somebody's face it picks up all the background noise but you can't hear the person talking hardly at all don't buy this piece of crap

Average garbage
Works okay but the mike picks up every swish of fabric when you move. Why bother?
