I have one by TOWA DTM-A1 and you need that. Period.
Without this you cannot do pretty much anything, this tool streamline whole pipeline of how to setup bobbin and top thread tensions...

I do sewing machine repairs. This little device is great when you need to set tensions to factory spec or to just test tension. I don’t always use the bobbin inserts but they are great when you have the correct bobbin for the supplied inserts.

Nachdem wir lange mit mechanischen Geräten herumgewurstelt haben, war der Schritt zur digitalen Version der einzig Richtige. Vom Schätzeisen zum konstanten Erfolg.Das Gerät ist rundherum empfehlenswert.Die Lieferung erfolgte zügig und ohne Probleme.Leider weigert sich der Verkäufer, eine Rechnung mit ausgewiesener deutscher MwSt zu senden, da er aus CHINA verschickt. Somit ist die Amazon TEXTBESCHREIBUNG FALSCH.

I would buy it again it has helped me set my thread and Bobbin Tension did not think that it would help but has taken out the guesswork.
