Crybaby Paperback – June 3, 2016

You wouldn't know it from the title, but Crybaby is full of sensual poems. Not in an erotic sense, though there are occasional hints of that, and love is definitely part of the picture. Rather, the poems are filled with references to sensations and the senses, temperatures and textures—they often feel tactile. Instead of hiding them behind flowery verse or obtuse imagery, Caitlyn allows her protagonists to be vulnerable. This directness gives the poems added impact.If I have any complaints, it's that the book is too short. Eighteen of its pages are taken up by information about other books in the publisher's catalog; on first reading, I thought there was a lot more to go—then it was over. Always leave them wanting more…

Caitlyn Siehl's last book "What We Buried" was my favorite book, and I thought nothing could come close to it. I was proved wrong after reading "Crybaby", she is able to capture the pain of heartbreak and she can write things into words exactly how they feel. That is a gift many people do not possess, and therefore I urge anyone who loves poetry to buy this book. The style of her writing is something that cannot be described, and in my opinion cannot be achieved by anyone else. Her writing is painfully beautiful and I am so lucky that I discovered it. I will never forget the first poem I read by her, I got chills all over my body. "Crybaby" made me feel like that over and over again.

As always, Siehl's message is multifaceted, meaningful, and inspiring. In this collection, she eloquently explores the experiences that so often plague us in love: the unrequited desire, the sleepy domestic dream, the hookup gone awry. Throughout all of the storytelling, she beautifully conveys how each event will allow you the opportunity to grow into a stronger individual, capable of depending upon yourself for the love and healing that you need. You will finish this book feeling empowered and light, as if you just had a long heart to heart with an old friend whose perspective always brings you a sense of clarity and peace.

Best poetry I have read in a long time. Full of emotion and completely relatable. I only read a new poem every few days so I can really hear it. Then I will read the next one. I have her other poetry book as well and I cherish them.

This book broke my soul in pieces. It touched on all aspects of life, religion, love, hope, and pain that I wanted. After reading this, I'd have to say Caitlyn Siehl is one of my favorite poets. Their work is so vulnerable, so full of tender language, and big heart. Every image sticks and every word is important. If you want to cry a lot, well baby this is the book for you.

A masterpiece. Every time I pick it up it is like walking through all the aches and the pains and the wonder of my (admittedly) short life. The words flow right off the page and into my heart. I absolutely love this poem book, and Caitlyn's writing.

I truly don't know how she does it. Miraculous. Incredible.

I really really really liked it!

This collection was well-written, with interesting imagery - but there was something about it which, ultimately, failed to connect with me. I like the idea behind some of the poems - for example, 'Achilles to Patroclus' and 'Patroclus to Achilles' were lovely in theory - but something about the delivery didn't really resonate with me, unfortunately

Crybaby is a fantastic body of work written by a remarkably talented young lady. Having read its predecessor, What We Buried, I expected great things from this book and was not disappointed at all. My advice to you is purchase this book and find somewhere beautiful to read it.

Crybaby is one of my favorite poem books. Caitlyn has the ability to shake my bones and make me grind my teeth just by allowing me to dwel on me; she's always up to empower the feminine side of it all.Thank you.
