The best Textured Vegetable Protein mother earth can provide and is a great meat substitute. Our Ham Chiplets are great on salads and any recipe that calls for a ham flavor. You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy the benefits of TVP either, soy protein TVP can be used as a low cost or high nutrition food extender in meat and poultry products and in tuna fish salads. Food service, retail and institutional facilities and families regularly add over 50% TVP to their true meat dishes to save costs and reduce fat and cholesterol. Textured vegetable protein is a delicious product that takes on many different forms allowing it to take on the texture of whatever ground meat it is substituting. Using textured vegetable protein, you can make vegetarian or vegan versions of traditionally meat dishes such as chili, spaghetti bolognese, sloppy joes, tacos, burgers or burritos.

Tell Mother Earth to take out the Red dye #2
I would give this product 5 stars if it didn't have red dye #2. How can a company called Mother Earth put red dye #2 in their product? The target consumer for this product doesn't care what color it is, they just want it to be healthy and have a ham taste. And this product does make great ham and eggs, the trick being to soak it in the egg mixture and not in water beforehand, to flavor the egg. I also add just a small sprinkling of ground clove which gives it a classic ham smell and adds a little extra flavor.Earth to Mother Earth - no more Red dye 2!

Best fake plant based ham
Very nice smoky flavor to use in multiple dishes that normally ask for ham: soups, quiche, egg dish. Add water and it becomes soft and ready to be used. Makes any dish smell good- kids could smell it from second floor and couldn’t wait to try split pea soup. Ordered more already

Moist ham bits
Not dried, slightly moist and chewy.

Not much different from the baco-s sort
This one is a little "pinker," with a less pronounced flavor than the bacon one. Also, 14 oz is a smallish container, not a large one.

Love it!
I eat this once a week for breakfast. I set it in water for 10 min, then cook with the remaining water for 5-7 min. So delish!

Way better than I thought it was going to be.
K, didn't think I was going to throw these bits in as many dishes as I do. I make a great vegan split pea that everyone thinks I use ham in. I put a spinkle along with broccoli in quiche and fritatta. I put it in with gravy for grits. Scrambled eggs. I use instead of bacon in a warm bacon dressing for a spinach and mushroom salad. Really, endless

These are pretty great, They're good as crunchy bits on salad
These are pretty great, They're good as crunchy bits on salad, and rehydrated in anything. I made an omelette this morning with them and it was killer. Even my ham-missing husband enjoyed it.

My first try at a ham subsitute, and well worth every penny. Yummy Good.
This was my first try at using a meat substitute. I was almost afraid to buy it, but I gave in, and I am very happy I did.I made a pot of White beans today, and they were delicious. I plan on stocking up on all the different meats now. I have been wanting to start getting away from pork and other meats for health reasons, and I am very happy I chose the Mother Earth Brand. No GMO's. All natural. And the taste is so good. They definitely have a repeat customer in me. I bought the bacon bits also but haven't tried those yet. I will make a comment on those as soon as I do. I am really eager to try the Sausage. I bet it will make great Gravy to go with my home made biscuits I make. These are worth a try. You will not be disappointed with them.
