The soundtrack of staggering heartbreak and unqualified redemption.
The product is the CD of the original soundtrack to the film "Get Low". The film itself has all of the qualities that the soundtrack amplifies; humor, truth, sadness, irony and finally, personal redemption. The actors all perform in a superlative manner; true masters of their craft and exquisitely directed to achieve the best characterizations possible. The music and backing score that causes this genius undertaking to float mellowly towards the falls or rapids of self-illumination, is a well-chosen and charmingly composed blend of great segments of musical interludes. The action on the screen takes place in a rural setting, and of a past vintage, so the music reflects and exalts that circumstance. But rather than the category of "country" music, the body of the tracks would be more accurately described as "mountain" music. The Inkspots performing "If I Didn't Care", is miles removed from "country" or "mountain", but fits here perfectly. As do some of the other non-mountain music selections; they might be tunes heard on the radio for those lucky enough to have electicity. The players of the somewhat mournful passages or the spirited romps, seem to enjoy the vibrancy of their sound, knowing it exemplifies a time gone by, but technically proficient. The symphonic interludes, chosen to highlight some key elements in the story telling, are gentle and soothing, but nonetheless emotional and significant. These violin, rather than fiddle, solos set the stage for some visual fireworks that energize the flow of the story. A consumer would be very well served to entertain themselves with this offering. See the film; enjoy that, then relax with this CD and be transported back to a simpler time.

My 10 year old loves the Spanish version
I had to get this for my son since he loves songs in movies. Every movie we watch that he likes, or tv cartoon shows, we have the soundtracks. I got this for two things that I didn't already have, the sad song from Jessie in Toy Story 2, and the Spanish version of "You've Got a Friend in Me."For this price, though, they should have included at least a couple more songs. I do like buying CD's at Amazon though and getting the instant download right away.Decent item for fans of the Toy Story music, since other albums may not have a couple of the ones on here.

Terrific Soundtrack
I just saw Robert Duvall's latest film, so the music soundtrack has relevence. But even if I hadn't seen Get Low, I would have bought it anyway. It's that good. The album is an atmospheric mix of old-time, classic country and original bluegrass music performed by the premiere artists of those genres. You may already know the work of Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas, but if you've never heard The SteelDrivers before, this is your chance to be truly impressed by an exceptional bluegrass band. The gritty authenticity of lead singer Chris Stapleton's powerful voice will send chills up and down your spine.More important, this nostalgic compilation reminds this former East Tennessean of some of the crusty individualists that still live in the mountains and hollers of Appalachia. Thus, I will play this album often, but especially when I'm headed back home.

Cadillac Records, excellent CD!!!!
I really liked the movie and decided that I would purchase the soundtrack really for the cuts done by Beyonce' who were originally done by MS. ETTA JAMES, one of the greatest singers alive!! Ms. Beyonce' did a wonderful job of delivering those cuts beautifully and I think her renditions of those songs "At Last", "I'd Rather Go Blind" made Ms. James proud. I would recommend this CD to anyone overall the CD was very good. I also would recommend the seller for being very conscientious in sending me this CD in a timely fashion and in good condition. Thank you Disco-Mart!!!

I love the music on this disc.
I enjoyed the music on this Toy Story favorites disc. I think the Spanish version of "You've Got A Friend In Me" is a very fun upbeat song. The Gipsy Kings are very good musicians who play guitar very well as a group. The other highlight is the new Randy Newman song entitled "We Belong Together". This is a good song about friendship. I love the saxophone playing on this song. I do not own the original Toy Story soundtrack, so I found the songs "I Will Go Sailing No More" and "Strange Things" to be pleasant surprises. The Sarah Mclachlan song "When She Loved Me" still tugs at my heart. This song is beautiful. I love this music.

Spanish?
Bought for my granddaughter who loves Toy Story. Her favorite song is “You’ve Got A Friend in Me”. Needless to say, she and I were greatly disappointed when the song came on in Spanish. Rather disgusted.
