The device itself appears well-made. The case, silicon cover, and lanyard are clearly not afterthoughts, either. It's simple to use. I am not giving any stars for accuracy just yet. It gets my pulse right, but I intend to test blood oxygenation against an FDA-cetified device. I expect it will compare well.My only cons are that, like the medical devices, the display faces away from the user, meaning a solo user has to twist their hand around, and unlike professional units, there's no way to freeze the result or record it.

When I first tried out this device, the pulse rate readings varied a lot and were higher than expected, so I didn't believe the results. I put it away on a shelf, thinking that it was too cheap to give accurate results. Later, I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation, which explained why the bpm's were abnormal. I had a cardioversion (shock therapy to the heart) yesterday which restored normal heart rhythm, and the resting heart rate readings are now in the normal 50 - 60 bpm for me. I compared the pulse rate readings against an Omron BP786N blood pressure monitor, and they are very close. So I believe the results now. The price was right, and measurements are very easy. Five stars. Just hope the AFib stays away.

I have COPD and I depend on ti every day. The price is a good value for the money and is so easy to us. In my condition I do depend on accuracy and I get every time here.

I bought this for my mom after she was released from the hospital and we have to check her pulse ox levels. It seems to run a bit higher than most, but it was a good purchase. Not great, but at least we could see the numbers did not go too low. I am torn whether or not to recommend it, because like I said the numbers ran higher than the doctor's.

Sometimes takes a long time to read. Have to have a warm finger.

Tried it against oximeters at work (hospital) and it was within 1% every time against several professional devices.

Good, it uses easy to obtain AAA batteries.

I first tried the CMS-500DL and found the pulse measurement way off. Returned it and bought the CMS-50DL as a coworker had this model. Much more accurate. Perhaps the 500DL was a defective one. The only main difference was that the 500DL faces towards you during use and the 50DL away from you. Maybe the 50DL was designed to be read by someone administering the test to you? Both are easily readable. Good instrument.
