I do think this is overly priced at nearly £20 for what is simply a spinner and a batch of foam discs. It’s not too difficult to recreate this at home for yourself.The game arrived in a really large box with a carry handle. When you open it up, you can instantly tell that this box is over-sized and it could have easily been condensed, especially as the instructions are printed on a leaflet on the inside – you don’t have to rely on the multi-lingual options on the back of the box.These foam discs feel pretty durable and I think this game could be played both indoors and outdoors. There are three options of game play: a line (if two players, two lines of 10 and a race to the finish); a circle (like a race track where you race to get back to your starting point); a game akin to ‘The Floor is Lava’ whereby pads are removed after each round.All of these are simple games and the spinner dictates whether you can move to the nearest pad (there are only three colours on each pad). The reverse of the pads has basic exercises you have to do whilst waiting for your turn: star jumps, hops, balancing on one leg etc… the novelty quickly wore off with my children. They opt for the colours-only version of the game.All in all, my children have loved playing the elimination, ‘The Floor is Lava’ style game over anything else. They can play as a pair, taking the spinner with them as they go. I think it works best with more players, especially as a party game. However, I do not feel this game has longevity and I don’t believe it will be an ever-lasting favourite. It would be more appealing if this game was cheaper.

You can always rely on Galt Toys to come up with great ideas, and this hop, skip and jump game is no exception. It can be played indoors or out and is brilliant for parties.The blurb describes it as 3 games in 1, but it can actually be played 6 different ways — with the discs colour side up or activity side up.3 options1. Place discs in rows in front of participants. Spin the wheel. You can only move forward if your next disc has that colour uppermost. Winner is the person who gets to the end first2. Place discs randomly Players have to jump in one go to whichever colour comes up on wheel. If they can’t then they are out.3. Place discs in a circle with participants equally spaced and facing in one direction. Jump forward if the disc in fron has the spun colour. If you are caught from behind you are out. First one back to the start wins.Then you have the same three options again but using the other side of the discs to add in an activity, i.e. hop to next colour, star jumps, balance on one leg.We played this at my grandsons’s fourth birthday party, and enormous fun was had by all.
