Orion 09473 ShoreView 10x42 Waterproof Binoculars (Black)

I bought these binoculars for birdwatching on a trip to Costa Rica. I'm not a birder, so I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on binoculars I may not use much once home from this trip. After a fair bit of research, I decided on the Shore View and they've proved to be a great purchase! They hung from my neck the entire 2 weeks in Costa Rica, so enjoyable did they make watching wildlife. The clarity is excellent at short to midrange distances. They are not totally crisp at long distances, but they're adequate, and for $ 65- they're a bargain. I tried a fellow travelers $ 1,000- binoculars and they were amazing, but as he said, you have to spend a lot of money to gain that extra 5-10% clarity. So for a birding newbie, I'm thrilled with my Shore Views!

I loved how I could see such a big field with these but the twist caps started to stick after only a few uses. Also, they are kind of heavy, which I didn't realize till I wore them on a whale-watching trip.

They work and for they money they are competent. They aren't comparable to a pair of Nikon's or Vortex's, but if you are stuffing them in backpacks and throwing them in your car or on a plane or letting your grandkids hold them while looking at elk, they are just fine. Too heavy for trip I planned on using them on.

These are excellent. Crisp bright optics,Very very easy to adjust focus and a great wide field of view. I tested them at 1000 yards and could see perfect detail of objects. I'm a person who refuses to spend 500 plus dollars on binoculars,so these are perfect for me-They get the job done and more! I should also mention that these are very rugged and I can tell they will last a long time.

This Binoculars is very tough built,crystal clear image, easy to handle.The most important of all, It;s cost is only a fraction of Binoculars of other brand and its weather-proof.The pouch that comes with it is cool !.Quick delivery, I will recommend this to my friends.

Use them a lot for theater and Laker games.

These are the best I've ever owned. Very adjustable. I'm not sure that the ones I owned previously ever let me see as clearly as these do.I get full visual affect rather than grey fields on edges that seem to move around as you try to spot your object or subject. I would recommend to beginners for sure and people like me that are trying to improve their skills at observing wild life as it happens.
