just as good
This book was just as thrilling as the first. The plot drags out a bit longer, but definitely worth the read. Excited to continue on in this series.

Each book in the series is better than the previous one
The best part of starting a series when most of the books are available immediately is the ability to jump right into the next book without taking a breath. Instant satisfaction! Obsession by Helen Hardt begins immediately following Craving. One of the facets of this series that makes is so interesting is the complex cast of characters that capture my heart and imagination. There are beautifully sexy men, forceful and resilient women and a group of severely detestable bad guys. Obsession continues the tale of Talon and Jade. Talon is at the point that he knows therapy is needed to deal with his past so he can be whole for Jade. Dr. Melanie Carmichael is helping.Obsession, and the entire Steel saga is dark and mysterious. Ms. Hardt does an excellent job of dropping breadcrumbs about what is in store for the characters, Talon’s past and the Steel's future At the same time, she throws in some unexpected events that cause the reader to question how everything will play out continually.Obsession continues telling the tale with the alternating points of view of Jade and Talon. It is often heartbreaking to experience the fear and pain that Talon works through daily. It is also sad but hopeful to know what is going on in Jade’s head. I love Jade’s courage. She is a good friend of Marjorie Steel. It is refreshing to have a character cheer for a relationship between a best friend and a sibling. It gets a little old sometimes to always have this scenario cause a rift between friends. Marj sees how perfect the relationship can be and champions Jade to Talon.I love how Jade is all-in helping Marj find what her brothers are keeping from her. Sometimes it is to help her friend and sometimes to help the man she loves. Jade puts on her sleuthing hat and using the tools available to her as assistant district attorney. The work setting adds another level of mystery to the story. Jade works for a sleazy, unethical district attorney who is out to get the Steels. It makes me wonder what his problem with them is. It concerns me a little that Jade appears to be a bit disloyal to the man she loves at times. I have confidence that she will do the right thing, but honestly, I’m not sure where this heading. In Obsession, the XXX-rated scenes continue. You've gotta love that! Talon’s dirty mouth is sexy as hell. Also, Talon is showing more of his dominant side in the bedroom and Jade is enjoying it--so is this reader. Unfortunately, Talon also pushes at Jade away in a hateful manner that makes me yell at him on occasion. Jade doesn’t give up or give in to Talon’s mixed signals. She stands her ground and allows Talon to work on his demons—another aspect of the characters that makes the story captivating. Rarely do characters stay in my head like the Steels, et. al. I am at the point where I believe I know them personally and I want to know more. I so need Talon to find happiness, and I love that he is trying to get his life together by seeing Dr. Carmichael. The book is full of mystery and suspense about the growing romance that it is impossible to put them down after starting. The stories are so good that I went back and ordered the audio for these first two books with the audio and ebook for Possession. The narrators for Talon's story are Sebastian York and Neva Navarre. Adding their voices to the mix adds additional insight into the Steel’s universe.Helen Hardt is doing an excellent job creating intrigue not only with the storyline but with multi-dimensional characters. These characters are going to stay with me for a long time. Every chapter flows so smoothly from page to page then from book to book making the experience entertaining and entrancing. Now I’m off to start reading Possession, book 3 of the series while keeping the events of Obsession circling in my brain. I highly recommend this series. I’m confident that you will love it.

10/10
This series is great and full of sex appeal and lovely characters. I love her as an author, her books are great. They are sexy, tell a good story and you will end of staying late to try and finish the book (which might not be a good thing). You feel like you are part of the their story. A great read!

Jade and Tade Follow Up
4.5 Stars out of 5 StarsObsession picks right where we left off from the first book. In this latest installment the author digs further into Talon’s past and we get a greater glimpse into his PTSD. Please heed the authors warnings regarding the flashbacks. They are harsh and contain physical and sexual abuse of a minor. Helen Hardt has done such an amazing job with showing readers who Talon Steel really is and what makes this man tick. I cried a lot while reading this book but I also experienced a great sense of hope and pride.Talon’s is very confused in the start of this book. He does not understand his feelings for Jade only that he has an intense need to have her near and to consume her. He seeks help from his brothers to try and make sense of his feelings while trying to battle his demons. When the author takes readers back into Talon’s past it broke my heart. It literally brought me to ugly tears. I’m so grateful that we see this because it explains his demeanor and hesitation with Jade.Jade is truly a strong character. She loves Talon and makes no excuses to the contrary. She wants to be there for him and get him the help he needs but she also understands that Talon has to want the same. I really love that she never gives up on Talon. When he seeks her out she is there for him and tries to offer him the only support she can give. I absolutely loved Jades commitment to Talon and the Steel’s. She knows there is more to the story and I really admired her determination to find out what is really behind her bosses need to destroy that family.Talon really grows in this book. He explores his feelings for Jade and tries hard to right his wrongs. The author does an amazing job with expressing his thoughts and turmoil when it came to Jade. It broke my heart that this big war hero couldn’t understand his feelings or couldn’t equate what they meant. This intense love between Jade and Talon isn’t the story here, there is the mystery of Talon’s past and the secrets behind the Steel family that really is the driving force of this story. Talon and Jade are made for each other, their relationship feels so natural and you want so badly for things to work out for them. The journey has just begun for Talon and Jade and the secrets to his pasts are just starting to surface, can Talon and Jades love survive when all is revealed? You really need to pick up this incredible, deep and intense read. You won’t be sorry.

2 BOOKS DOWN, ANOTHER 7 TO GO!!,
I really wasn’t going to bother reading this after the 1st book mainly because they are horrendously expensive for a very short story. But it got the better of me so here we are. I love the story but there is far too much in the way of sex scenes and found myself skipping some of them as they actually got quite boring after the first few. Some of the story is quite painful reading ie the child abuse and the flashbacks. I really think the author could so easily have combined the first two books together to make a decent amount of pages for the money. I really want to read the rest of this set but not at £4.99 for a couple of hundred pages. Either the price comes down or I will have to give up on them.

Not recommended.
Short books so you have to spend more money. I read all 9 and believe this story could have been dealt with in 3 books. The writing is repetitive in places, she uses the same phrases several times throughout the series. The sex scenes are lengthy and in places unbelievable in that you wouldn't run off mid way through a major event to have sex if solving the mystery was that important to you. She's obsessed with anal sex and bondage. How likely is it 3 brothers would all like the same form of sex?? Her use of language during the sex scenes is vulgar in places. Some of the sex scenes are verging on spousal abuse. I skim read a lot of these just so I could find out what the conclusion to the mystery is. I wouldn't recommend her as an author and won't read anything else by her.

Slow and painful - it’s obviously die hard fans giving high ratings
Even skim reading this was slow and painful. It’s frustrating because the premise of this back story is great a real gritty look at what can happen to a person and how it could effect their ability to love. But talk about dragging it out. Jeez Louise how many books !!!! 15 or something and the story is moving at a mind numbing pace! again like the first book the story seems to be written around sex scene rather than the sex scenes being an addition to the story they just go on and on and half the time don’t add anything. I’m frustrated that I won’t get to find out what happens to Talon, quite frankly not really bothered about Jade she’s a boring 2D character, but there is no way I’m slogging through the rest of these books especially at the ridiculous price for a book that’s barely 250 pages long.... any one say cash cow!

Cheap shot at selling more books.
I read the first instalment in this saga a nd was annoyed that I had to buy the next book in the series to hopefully finish this part of the story, but no the same again. When I read Steel Brothers saga I expected one or more complete stories that could be read in isolation from the others. This I think is usual, I have read many series and they have all worked this way. I am not prepared to pay full price for book 3. I think the approach here is misleading, I would rather give up the story than be blackmailed this way. The story is good but not good enough.

A nice page turner but...
i started to read the saga because i knew there was going to be an going story about the different characters. I also liked the fact that i would have to be patient to see how Talon's story was going to unfold.I was nevertheless disapointted by all the repetitions about their doubts and the obligatory over the top sex scenes. i don't mind some of them but I also ended up skipping them as i wanted to focus on the story and the characters' relationship
