Writes great and looks sharp.
I have many Cross pens, but only a couple of them are fountain pens: The Cross Townsend Medalist Refillable Fountain Pen Fine Nib; and a Cross Spire Golden Shimmer Fountain Pen Fine Nib. Thought I'd round things out a bit by adding a Cross Century fountain pen to my humble collection. I was immediately surprised at how well this pen writes. Frankly, I wasn't expecting much since my Spire is such a poor writing utensil and it's about the same size as this Century II. I think it also writes better than the Townsend. It's very smooth, the ink started flowing well right out of the box, the nib stays wet and it isn't at all scratchy. At first, I had the impression that it was a cheap pen because it is so light, but it looks great and writes even better.

I FORGOT HOW GOOD THIS PEN WRITES
I used to be in a profession where I wrote a lot of reports. I used Cross pens almost exclusively back then. The last few decades I have gotten away from Cross and started using those free promotional pens. The free pens would work fine for the first couple of weeks then the ink starts to dry out at the ball point tip. One would need a scratch pad nearby to scribble the free pen to get the ink flowing again. Some free pens wrote smoother and cleaner than others. I guess when pens are free, one takes what one can get.I decided to treat myself to another Cross pen. No regrets. I enjoy writing again. It works first time, every time. Plus, it writes so smooth and clean. I forgot how good this pen really is. Caveat - if you are the type of person who loses pens a lot, you may want to think twice about investing this kind of money into a quality pen. For the rest of us, get one. You will not regret it.PS I'm thinking about going back to Cross and trying out the new ATX model. It has a fatter barrel than the Classic model. Sometimes it's more comfortable to hold onto something with more substance.

Love this Cross pen
I have been using this model of Cross pen for year. Fits nicely in the hand and writes well. My only gripe is I keep losing mine. However, it does carry a lifetime warranty against pretty much everything except for loss.

Thin / Narrow
This is a great pen, I bought the ballpoint version, and I do like it. I found it just under half price, I would not have paid $90 or $100.It is very smooth and well designed. I also come in a nice box that can be kept. But it is very thin, it is about a 1/4 an inch in diameter or a little over 5 centimeters.Honestly a little to thin even for my small hands that measure 16 centimeters from the tip of my middle finger to my palm.I thought I would be behind this to work to use as a luxury every day pen, but I don’t think I would want to write for long periods of time with it.

Best writing utensil on the market (in my humble opinion)
I have a couple Mont Blanc pens and I think it’s funny that I always prefer to use my Cross pens when it is necessary for precise writing. The titanium grey cross pens have an extremely high quality look, perfect weight, and unique feel to them and are a truly awesome upgrade if you’ve always liked the feel of the typical classic stainless steel cross pens, like me, and just love the feel and quality of the shape of this pen. My drawing and writing with these thin style style pens is (also probably the highest quality pencil on the market by far, have never found a pencil that I like better) and are incomparable with any other writing utensil I’ve used, and I can really attest to that since I’ve used cross pens since I was in high school through college and when I upgraded to Mont Blancs, and many other expensive pens, they ended up being more $500/$700.00 desk ornaments rather than a useful tool as this shape of pen has provided for me for so long. Really love the titanium upgrade, it is a welcomed sight to see the iconic design that is already perfect in my opinion, significantly improved. Such a high quality instrument for a very reasonable cost for what you are receiving. These will last a life time. The box is very nice looking as well. Also fast shipping. Thank you Amazon!!!

Exquisite, Classy Pencil
I bought this to match a pen I found (identical in appearance), and I could not be happier. I happen to hate pencils in general, as they are typically either frustratingly poorly made (most mechanical pencils suffer from the lead snapping off with little pressure applied), or just plain ugly looking. As someone who avoided pencils and dabbled in mathematics often, I decided to invest in a a worthwhile pencil from a reputable and legendary company. I bought this pencil because it looked sharp, and I trusted Cross would make a good product. I could not have been more right. The controls to advance or retract the lead are simple yet effective, and the lead has never snapped on me. The mechanics of the pencil are lifetime warrantied, and the erasers and lead have inexpensive refills that Cross sells. My only complaint at this point is that upon changing the eraser, the plastic slot that the eraser loads into did crack. It still holds the eraser, however, so I have not cared much about that. I simply wish they used something stronger than plastic to hold in the eraser.Notes: The top half comes off with a tug, revealing the eraser. Spare lead is stored within a cartridge in the pencil, which is handy. The gold at the tips is real gold. The performance is flawless so far, and I have received many compliments on the appearance of it. Be prepared to answer the question "Where did you get that pen?" Most people don't realize it is a pencil... Finally, it is cheaper to get the pen and pencil as a set. The pencil alone cost almost as much as the pair when I've seen it in stores.

I have a lovely collection of Cross Pens.
I love Cross Pens at least the Cross Pens from back in the day. Ball point pens are my pen of choice. This pen is fancy. It's sturdy. It has a different feel from other Cross Pens. The color Rose Gold is absolutely stunning. It's unique. I have no regrets. I would feel comfortable gifting this pen to friends and family that live out of state. A well built pen. Thanks elf
