The filter does work well, I use a double pre-filter to keep out the larger dust that will otherwise shorten the filter's life. We run the Healthmate in the bedroom every night. At daytime as needed.The filter is well-made, mine had a small dent, but it has no effect on filtration. As far as value for money, it's a good filter that does what it's designed to do, well. I wasn't happy about the cost increases since my last purchase, but paid it, because we absolutely need it.If this filter lasts as long as our previous filter did, I can live with the cost.

The air cleaner is almost 30 years old and this is the first time ever replacing the filter(s). Can already tell the difference in the air already.

I am disappointed in these products as time goes on. Originally these filter replacements, which came directly from the manufacturer, were pristine and lasted for 4–5 year depending on usage. Now the filter barley lasts three years. And the prices have been steadily going up, doubling, so that I may not be able to afford them any longer.Also, the production quality has degraded and the delivery (not sure if comes form Austin Air or Amazon) is unacceptable and frustrating. Clearly, the packages get abused in transit because they are heavy and hard to handle. I am sure that they are frequently being dropped and damaged in transport.In addition, the drivers alway leave them in wrong spot in spite of explicit instructions. The drivers apparently never read the instructions. I don't why I bother to write them. The package was left out in rain and not seen for over 24 hours. I also never a notice that package was delivered. Very Frustrating. I wish there was a better mechanism to contact both Amazon and the Vendor to rectify this.I usually get an email to rate delivery, but not in this case. Pretty unhappy about the experience in general.

Long lasting and works well. Even cuts downy on dusting.

This filter was easy to install. My son has bad asthma and we use this filter system in his room. Its seems to make a difference. Initially, I was looking at upgrading my trane hvac unit to a hepa style filter and bacteria light and when reviewing this upgrade with the owner of a hvac installation company, he told me austin air would provide value for my money. So far, I am please.
