Mmmmm! Soup Joumou!: Volume 2 (ZOE BEAUTEE Little Reader's Collection)

It's so difficult to find children's books set in Haiti, about Haiti. My kids live this book! It is a part of our Haitian Indépendance Day every year now!

Je suis vraiment déçu d’avoir reçu le livre plié , il faudrait mentionner aux livreurs de faire attention aux colis maintenant je ne peux pas l’offrir en cadeau avec la couverture pliée de cette façon!

I love this story it is cute, informative, and the illustrations are lovely.

We are a bi racial family and Haitian tradition and history is a very important topic for us to teach to our daughter. This book gives a very surface level description of Soup Joumou and Independende day. Best suited for younger children who aren’t ready for the detailed history. I am slightly disappointed that this book wasn’t fully in creole or offered both creole and English translation. There are very few creole words in the book.
