No real instructions, only on back of box. "Fill with water and freeze" Hmm, I knew that part. Plan ahead. You need to leave this on the counter for 15 minutes or so, so that it thaws enough to pull the rubber mold out of the case. Ice ball was clear. Only a slight ridge line at the mold seam. Beverage should be cold before pouring over ice ball, as room temp beverage results in cracking the ice. Same with any cube, but who cares if your cube cracks.2nd use, thaw and remove ice from base of the mold. We did not, and the ball had trapped air in the bottom, so the ball was white, not clear. Removing all ice before next use results in clear ice ball.Novelty item, but this mold assembly is good quality.

I was skeptical on how the ice was going to come out.First time I boiled the filtered water (under sink carbon filter) and waited 48 hours. Ice balls came out perfectly clear.Second time I did not boil the water just used the filtered water and again waited 48 hours and ice balls came out perfectly clear again.One thing I did was with a single edge razor I scraped off a very thin line in the middle that is made by the 2 halves of the mold and the 2 small nipples on top and bottom. ( all that is really not that noticeable)Very happy with the purchase, I am making them and storing them on a Ziplock in the freezer to be used as needed.

I purchased a similar product about 2 years ago... so much better than small(er) ice cubes for an "on-the-rocks" drink. Saw this product and decided to purchase... very glad I did. Although this unit requires more freezer space, needs a little more muscle to operate... the result are spectacular. I make several a week and they store very well in freezer until called.

This product does what it says it will do. Makes 2 fairly but not perfectly rounded spheres of clear ice. The clarity is what I was after and it does a very good job of that.Not that if you aren’t freezing them long enough they melt very fast and can water down your whiskey. I recommend 48 hours even though they will look good after 24.

This ice maker really does produce perfectly clear spheres. I have made 12 so far: 8 are perfect, two have dimples because I removed them from the freezer too soon, and two have a few bubbles in them. The product delivers . . . Just not quickly. Preparation is simple, and one day later you have the spheres. There is no cleanup. The manufacturer has created an excellent product for those of us who have been seeking the clear sphere.

Item received was dusty and had scratches on it.

Product worked as promised however instructions would have been helpful especially when disassembling the mold for the first time because it is a very tight fit and there was concern that I might damage the mold from excessive force while removing it from its container.

The ice was clear every time I used it.
