AMC Map: Carter Range - Evans Notch and North Country - Mahoosuc: White Mountains Trail Map (Appalachian Mountain Club) Map – Folded Map, April 17, 2012

This is another great map from the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). I just bought this one for an upcoming hike in the Carter Range. Last year I purchased a similar map for the Presidential Range. I know now from experience that these maps hold up very well. Being printed on Tyvek, they are waterproof, so you don't need to keep them wrapped in plastic. And they Tyvek also makes them extremely durable. It held up extremely well to heavy wind and rain.All the information you need is in them; topo lines, peak elevations, distances between trails, huts, tent sites, lakes, you name it. I have not found it to be lacking in any way.It weighs 20 grams for those putting your pack weight together.Only Con: When it gets soaking wet it smells really weird, bad actually, kind of like a wet dog. On the flipside I was ecstatic when I realized it was the map that smelled and not me! Fortunately once it dries the odor does not linger.
