Amazing Cookbook!
This isn’t the most comprehensive or largest complication you’ll find, but the recipes are wholesome, healthy, and local ingredient driven! Laird knows his stuff when it comes to nutrition; just feed your body what it needs and listen to it! There’s a mix of quick recipes and “roll-up-the-sleeves-cause-it’s-gonna-get-messy” recipes, but the ones I have tried are definitely worth it! I included a photo of the Salmon Quinoa burgers I made from this book, and they turned out to be so good!

Tasty and healthy recipes
Great set of relatively easy to make recipes that taste great and are great for you. There are some occasional discrepancies with cooking times and portion sizes (well, at least for us non big wave surfers). But overall this is a fantastic recipe book.

Felt ghost written. None of the recipes seemed to have any kind of personal connection at all (e.g. “i first tasted this while travelling in such and such a place”, or “this is a recipe from such and such a friend” etc), and the names of recipes felt shoehorned in to fit with “surf” branding. I have a hard time believing Laird Hamilton cooks with sunflower oil. There’s also some bits which are pretty much straight up gibberish: “Studies show that if a person gets enough hydration and healthy fats, they can get all the carbohydrates needed from a normal diet.” Finally, and most irritatingly, about 1/4 of the recipes feature Brawndo - sorry, I meant to say Laird’s Superfood Creamer.
