Hard felt for ultra high luster
I scratch made all the hardware for a jewelry box out of 304 stainless steel and used the buffing pads along with diamond paste to produce a mirror finish. The hook and loop backing worked fine as long as the pads were on perfectly flat surfaces and the pads didn't have to 'flex'. If used on curved surfaces that only contacted a small portion of the pad, they did loosen and come off. The quality of the felt was excellent and did a great job. Probably the only way to use these pads in tight irregular surfaces and keep them on a backer would require a screw thru the center of a flexible rubber backer and forget about the convenience of a hook and loop. Overall, the pads are a bargain and perform very very well, but the hook and loop backing really doesn't work well on anything but perfectly flat surfaces. I'd rate the felt 5 stars, but the hook and loop backing isn't when used on non flat surfaces.

Will hookup once. Only once
The pad surface seems fine but the hook and loop was terrible. Grabbed okay at first but once it came off it wouldn't grab at all. Using Makita 5" random orbit sander.

Too Rigid For Anything I Need
Seem like nice, dense wool pads, but I really don't know what I would use these for. There is absolutely no flex to the pad or backing material and almost everything I would polish is not flat and I don't think there's any way to get into hills and valleys with these pads.

The hook and loop backing isn’t so good.
Pad it self is fine but the backing isn’t so good. It wears out and does not stay attached to the buffer for long. Seems like a cheap terry cloth instead of typical hook and loop backing.
