Rothco Gadsden Snake Shemagh Tactical Desert Scarf

Just like majority of the shemaghs out there the total area of the unfolded scarf is large and almost too big. Once you fold it in half diagonally and wrap it around your neck and tie it there is still plenty of material to cover up your face and chest combined. The manufacture is good and tassels are tied off very secure considering they are flapping in the wind at highway speeds.....Hawaii's highway speed tho. (60). The have not come undone or frayed and when riding it keeps me cool from the sun and warm against the wind and bugs. Just like any new material give it a pre-wash before wearing it even though i didn't but the Gadsden snake looks fantastic yet subtle and turns heads when people notice. Overall i am surprised i have bought this earlier and i think this will be the only one i wear from here on out.

I have owned many shemaghs and this is definitely one of the nicer ones. It is plenty thick with a good tight knit. The ends are terminated neatly with nice tight knots. The shemagh is also quite large which makes it considerably more useful. This is certainly not one of the cheap Chinese manufactured ones that are available all over the place. This is well worth the money.

Thought I would get a cheap feeling or weird smelling scarf but it turned out to be high quality and thick material. Looks good and the sneaky little sneks on it are a good touch. This really let's my inner operator out and I feel 4x more high speed and 30% less drag than when I'm not wearing it Rifle for size comparison... Nah who am I kidding, I just want to show off my retro build to strangers on amazon. Its pretty big though.

The muted color is great for summer hunting as and allows you to keep cool by keeping the sun off of your neck or head without giving away your position. The size allows for many uses and it's very soft and comfortable for all day wear. Machine washing hasn't given me any issues.

Tag said 100% cotton. Thin, but warm. These things are multi-use, which is why I choose this over a balaclava. It can be a scarf, a hat, a scarf and hat at the same time, a shawl, a face mask (which works as a makeshift dust mask), a marginally effective water filter, a sling, a bag, a bandage, a small blanket, a pretty decent towel... The list goes on. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the way it is woven, it would be very easy to rip the edges or puncture it. That's not just this shemagh, but others I've owned as well, so that may just be a design thing. For the money, totally worth it. I suggest you buy at least two, because you'll love them.

For the most part, I love this item.... the color, the pattern, the thickness, the message, the texture. The only thing for me is the shape/ size. I didn't look close enough at the description (to see that it's a square) and went more by the picture (thought it would be a rectangle, more scarf like) so I will be returning. If you make it like a rectangle-scarf, I'll definitely buy.
