I had forgotten the mess.I had forgotten that a bale of hay in my car would leave residue long after it was consumed by the animal.I had forgotten that once you cut the string on a nice tight bale of hay it can literally expand to twice its size.In desperation I purchased this hay bag.It fit the California hay bale size.It immediately tidied up the chaos in my yard.I use it daily to pull out hay for my rabbit or to change his litter. So far so good with the zippers.Highly recommend this for storage (I store it in a cool dark location so the hay doesn't get too hot.I bought it in the blue as it was the cheapest at the time. Great color - doesn't impose itself and hasn't faded.

Works perfectly for my use. I board at a stable and feed extra hay. The only place I can keep it is open in the stall next to my horse or in the back of my truck. I tried the stall.. so did all of the extra miscellaneous creatures. It was scattered to the 4 winds and obviously slept in. I lost probably a quarter bale. Keeping it in the back of the truck is all well and good until you cut those strings.. and then the whole world gets to enjoy your hay. This bag works perfectly. I fit a 125 pound three string in there... tightly. I found that if you put it in and cut your strings, then pull the bag down all the way on one end and pull a few flakes by cantilevering it over the back of the truck it works brilliantly with minimal hay loss. Pull the bag back up and zip.

I have gone through a lot of hay bags, that’s a bad thing because I really just want to buy one that never wears out. This has been a great bag in terms of durability of the material, the performance of the handles& for overall size. The only challenge is getting the zippers to go around the corner, I simply run one zipper up to the front corner and one zipper up to the long corner and then peel the lid back as a workaround. It’s the best I’ve found

I can't say enough great things about this bag. I no longer have horses so I'm only using it for straw bales for the garden but it is SO well made and makes carrying bales SO much easier that I wish I had had a half-dozen of them when I was showing horses! This isn't made for outdoor storage. It easily held a good-sized bale of straw with plenty of room to spare- if I had hay bales bigger than this bag I don't think I'd be able to carry them anyway! The zipper operates smoothly & easily, there are grommeted ventilation holes, and the handles are the right length to carry over my shoulder. These are PERFECT for putting hay or straw in your car but they'd also be WONDERFUL for keeping your trailer or tack stall clean at horse shows! I got the blue & green and the colors are beautiful & vibrant. I wish I needed more of these, I love this bag.

I have bought three of this bag so I can carry hay in my Outback without getting hay stuck to the interior everywhere. They work great--nice heavy nylon/canvas, nice heavy zippers, and carry straps. Normally I would have wanted bags by Professional's Choice or Weaver but they are more than twice the price. I'm so glad I took a chance on these! Big bales fit in nicely and I can lug them around easily. I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of the material and stitching. Who knew?!?

I bought this a year ago today for my rabbits. It holds compressed bales with room to spare, which is awesome. A compressed bale normally lasts me about 3 or 4 months---I've only used it for about 4 bales total. Loved it. It got some water staining on it from a leak in the garage, but no big deal. HOWEVER...I go to fill my bunnies' hay storage for by their home, and I noticed a huge rip on the seam. I can't believe that 4 bales have caused this, and I'm ridiculously upset about that. It's not like this was exactly cheap!! For me to have ordered it exactly one year ago, and have only used it for about 363 days, this should not have happened.

Update: continues to hold up well but it is a complete pain if you are trying to get a full California 3-string bale in. It's a super tight fit for a California bale of teff (I suspect other hay types too.) But it seems well made and if you take your time getting it aligned properly it *will* fit if the bale isn't opened. Getting that first flake out once the bale is in can be a bit of a struggle but it gets easier after that.
