Gritty read.
A book for those of you who like tough violent men with the capacity to love and be loyal to their one true love.Evil lurks in their background, haunting our heroine, when it rears its ugly head it nearly destroys our couple.Good story, lots of sexual tension, raw pain and romance makes for quite a combination, but it really is a great story....Loved it!This is not a book for the faint hearted, at times it will make you cringe, but I couldn't put it down. More please.

Emotional rollercoaster
This book literally took me on highs and lows! Very dark places and emotions but with a much needed happy ending! Definitely worth reading! Would love a follow on to see what happens after and to see some of the other characters stories!

Unusual MC book
I was unsure about this one to start but as I got more into the story I started to really feel it. The writer's style is a little different but that's a good thing. It's graphic so be warned.

hate Maddy feel like slapping her myself !!!
Really don't know where to start I love MC books the dark story lines the sex and violence keeps them interesting but I just couldn't connect to this book the lead female Maddy was just annoying the way she lived and what she did just didn't work for me the book was full of random nonsense and the vocab was a bit odd ... Lots better books out there

Meah....
Kept me entertained, finished the book, but not the best mc book out there. Gritty but the story line needed work.

not amazing
Liked the book but felt too many things didn't add up. In the end the epilogue was what crushed it for me.. Don't want to give away too much but it was soooooo unrealistic - I would have been pissed if that was kept from me but he seemed fine!? Not for me - sorry

3.5 stars
This was a gritty and shocking MC read. In some parts I had my mouth wide open catching flies I was that floored.Maddie and Ford were brought together in their teens when Ford’s father, Cropper, the president of the Bare Bones MC, shacks up with Maddie’s mother in a bid to gain some element of ‘normal’ to defer all eyes from the MC. Not sure how he thought he would achieve this as Maddie’s mother was the local meth seller, but hey from that point I knew we were in for some eye opening scenes.Cropper is, well let’s just say he has issues and the appalling things he does leads Maddie to leaving home never to return. However after a timespan of ten years she finds herself back and face to face with Ford again. The pair can no longer deny what was meant to be but Maddie cannot bring herself to tell Ford why she had to leave a decade ago. When you are reading an MC book you expect some element of hard-core but this book, wow it certainly had that which raised that hard-core bar way above reach. There was abuse and vomit inducing play but it still had me flicking that kindle button to find out how this was going to end. In fact I read this in one sitting. The ending was lovely and I liked that Maddie and Ford got their HEA but oh my wordy it took a lot of brutality, abuse and a whole lot of WTFery to get there.Overall a good read but not a fluffy love story. If you like it edgy then you will like this. A 3.5 star read for me.

Four star bones
I must admit I haven't read that many MC books, I am drawn to them because that portray a culture that is so far from me that it could be, and is a totally different world. But that is the beauty of reading that we can be taken to places we would never go and meet people we would never usually meet.Madison garners your sympathy from the beginning, living the way she does and gabbing been bought up the way she was but "One thing my mother’s neglect, although I didn’t even recognize it as such until many years later, had not done to me was to drown me in self-pity. No, I was tough as nails, with a hardened box turtle’s shell to the barbs of the outside world. No one can hurt you if you don’t feel anything for them, right?” Yet even with this she still struggles with her self worth and does throughout the story, a tough front but hurt inside and always lacking that idea that she is worthy to be loved.Ford at the start just seems to be subservient to his dad, the head of the club, but as we see Ford grow he becomes more and draws out from his fathers shadow to become very much his own person. Always in the back of his mind is Madison, the one that got away. And you know that his love is strong, stronger than the other bonds except maybe that to the club, not his dad but the club.Cropper, Fords's dad has to be mentioned because he is the villian, and a true villian he is “Cropper sauntered forward, long gorilla arms swaying. Cropper did resemble an ape, so the ape hangers on his Super Glide were apropos. His greying hairline was so low he looked like he’d gotten into the stupid line twice" not only looking like one but being one. There are a lot of secondary characters and they provide a good backdrop and flesh out the story to make it real. This I was an exciting foray into a new world that held me, and kept me reading until the end. This is the start of a series I believe but there is a HEA which I was grateful for because both Madison and Ford deserved that.I received a free copy for an honest review
