Does water leak under the mat ?

It does not leak through. If the rack is bigger than the mat. Water will do underneath the pad.

When it arrived in the mail How was the packaging? Was it rolled in a box or was it folded?

It delivered flat. No rolls or fold creases.

How to rid the musty smell?

I wash with Dawn and set on dry towel to dry. Works for me. I do it every evening for the next day.

How do you store this mat when not in use if it is very floppy?

I don't store my mats. I keep by the stove on my counter and under my coffee pots to use as giant trivets. They protect counters from heat, water
