Loved this book.
Beautifully written, the characters were really well written and I loved the descriptive quality of the area, buildings and people. The story was warm and full of twists and turns. My only criticism, is the accent writing, I really do not like it. The rest of the characters we knew to be Irish, as am I. Did not enjoy Valentina with, "eees and Keveeen" etc., Her description of her birthplace and her as a woman was enough for any avid reader.

This book mirrors whats happening my life currently!
I couldn't believe when I started reading this book how much like my life it is. I bought it because of the title - its what I was wondering about my marriage. The more I read the more I thought this is exactly what happened to me and I could understand the way the main character was feeling and shockingly her partner was exactly like mine - although mine went for an older model who threw herself at him. It was like the author really understood what happens when a relationship breaks down due to infidelity. Great read and it makes me hope that my story ends up the same way.

I absolutely loved this book
I spent a whole Sunday reading this book and absolutely didn’t want to put it down. I loved the characters and didn’t want the story to end.

Fairy tale
I enjoyed it and so long as it is read remembering that the tall dark and handsome man with no history is a myth, the bad characters are not all bad and the good characters are not all good, then it's fine.

An easy story ut a bit predictable and heavy handed.
This is the story of Kevin and Carrie who run a successful Dublin restaurant . They live together but haven’t married. Kevin falls for one of their waitresses who is stunningly beautiful and boosts his self esteem . She is Colombian.Carrie is devastated but continues to work as usual. Kevin and Valentina move into luxury flat in a district where rich folks live. Valentina starts spending a lot of Kevin’ s money and becomes more and more demanding. Carrie meanwhile loses weight, meets Luke who’s a nephew of Jane from the run down pub near the restaurant. There is a lot psychological analysis of Kevin and his appalling mother. I found thAt tedious as it was obvious he was shallow and self centred. Carrie is kind and good and organised. There is a wedding at which Carrie is Maid of Honour and Kevin is best man. There is a scene where Kevin and Valentina attend the wedding but because he hasn’t booked , he and Valentina are glamping in a horse box.I won’ reveal the ending but comeuppance happens. It’s a reasonably well written story but heavy on the psychology and the ending is fairly predictable. I was bothered by why Valentina and her cousins were referred to as speaking Colombian. Should it have been Spanish or one of the Amerindian dialects?

My first one by this author
This was such a delightful read that I hated to see it end. I honestly got nothing else done because I could not put it down. Enjoyed all the characters so much. My first book from this author but not my last. She tells a great story. Thank you!!

A simple, sweet, heart warming story
I loved the story and the way it was told. I liked that there were no loose ends and no protracted sex and violence sequences that most books in this genre are inevitably peppered with. I look forward to reading more of Faith Hogan's books. More power to you lady, you've got yourself one more fan.
