Jonathan Green(11620) Pasture Grass Mixture - Cool Season Lawn Seed (50 lb)

I planted this on one acre and a little grass has grown. Im hopeful that it will get thicker. It's not as good as I hoped for though.

I used it to overseed some thin areas where I have been battling an invasive weed. I waited until the forecast was for several rainy days in a row since I can't irrigate. I had not expected quite the rainfall we got (from a hurricane), but it did not wash away and came up nicely despite 10 days of no rain after 4 days of constant rain. Unfortunately, the horses seem to love it and I'm hoping they don't overgraze it before it really gets established (can't isolate that area, either). I'll be back for some more in the Spring, when we take them off the pasture and I won't have the grazing problem. I do mix in a little more bluegrass seed for durability, but I do that with almost all of the pasture mixes.

It worked. We used it to overseed a sparse, partly shaded, clay soil paddock in lower Alabama last March. It gets only occasional horse grazing to kep the grass cut. We wanted better ground cover; more green, less erosion. We lightly harrowed, seeded, & harrowed again. Only rain for water. It came up in a couple of weeks and stayed green until fall, filled in like we wanted. The horses loved it when they could get at it.

Covers 44,000 over-seeding, and 22,000 sq feet if new pasture or lawn. We over-seeded a pasture, seemed to fine.
