Two Stories Fitted Into One Short Story Book.... Okay
It is the early days of the war in Afghanistan. SAS hero, Jock, has never fought alongside America's select Tier 1 Operators before now, but when their mission goes pear-shaped, he will find out just what they are made of... Battling against overwhelming odds in unknown territory, and with the enemy well dug-in, even the most elite soldiers with the most advanced weaponry at their disposal are put to the ultimate test of skill and courage.Just a very quick read, first story much better than second, and both okay.I need a full book from Chris Ryan to get into the action. Both just to short. Three stars

Exciting thriller
Very good read but short. Recommend to other Chris Ryan fans.More thrills from SAS and covert operations . Full of suspense.

Cracking Read!
Written so well in the 'first person' perspective of two strong main characters.Although a work of fiction, realistic in its narration and reflects well the pressures of deployment in Afghanistan - if the author has not been there he has at least researched well and spoken to people who have. Some great examples of cause/effect and class barriers that can be created in the rank system of the British Army and how pride combined with failing to see anothers viewpoint can lead to such drastic outcomes. The issues with font and punctuation must now have been rectified as I had no such problems - unless, it was just myself not noticing them!!

Very pacy.....
Let's get this straight. This is a short story, not a novel. I've read a few by Chris Ryan and they've varied in quality. This ones quite good though. It starts off quickly and the pace is unrelenting. A bit far fetched of course, but enjoyable nevertheless. Excellent for a quick, escapist read for an hour or so.

This is not a full book
This can't be classed as a book more a short tale. I see the number of pages in the description is in small print (very small print) and had I seen this wouldn't have purchased it even at 99p. Amazon why don't you make it clear that this is a short read. It also contains a taster of his next book which I had already read so all in all a poor purchase for me. Unhappy Chappy!
