can u use it on wires

Go to big-box home improvment store.  Get a roll of 1/4" clear vinyl tubing for normal extention cords and the next smaller (3/16" I think) for thin cords like cel ph chargers.  Cut the tubing to length and use a single edge razor blade to carefully slit one side of the tubing.  Work the wire into the tubing and it will close over the cord your trying to protect.  We foster kittens and sometimes we get one that loves to chew cords.

Question 2

I am confused by the measurements.  Is it 2.5 " wide?  Seems like if you want it for the corner of a couch, you would need it wider than that?

Yes, the tape is 2.5 inches wide like mailing tape. They make a wider product that's more specific to a couch but this would work and is more economical and versatile. I run a strip on the actual corner of the couch and then a strip on either side to be wide enough for the area the cats typically claw.

Question 3

Any tips on how to remove it from wood.  I'm not worried about the finish, I just can't get it up, & when I do, in only goes 4" to the break.

• Murphy Oil Soap is a wood cleaning product that can be safely used on any wooden surface. Dilute it in water for mild cases, or apply it straight to the wood for stickier residue. Wipe the wood with a soft cloth to remove the sticky residue. Rinse with clean water and a clean cloth.

• Pam cooking spray? Spray on and let it sit for 10 minutes and wipe off!

Could I use this on carpet? My cat loves to scratch carpet, but only in two or three certain spots
