The laces are a good product. It’s a bit trickle to learn how to use but once you have it down it’s an easy product to use. I bought them for my young kids. All under 5 years old. The plastic tabs that hold the laces in place are a bit bulky for such small shoes, which is why I took 1 star away. They are fine for adult shoes. If they had flatter and smaller tabs for kids this would be a 5 star product.

They only work with shoes that the last holes can face the lace inward. Furthermore, they do come with lace ends that work on the exterior of the shoe but you would need to either double up or miss the top of your show which compromises stability of the foot and, in the case of doubling up, strangle the top of the foot. The right shoe, these are okay. Wrong shoe, they kinda suck. Lock laces are better. I made mine work, but only because I don’t want to waste materials or money.

I've had my eyes on these for years but have been reluctant because I didn't want my shoes too loose. They went on sale and I got a pair of these and the boot version.These turn any pair of shoes into quick slips. You control how tight they end up. With a bit of slack, even after they're set up you can still adjust. They never feel like they're almost about to fall off, but still comfortable.I bought these for a pair of converse and yes, they're not quite as thick as the laces that come standard. I wouldn't say it's significantly different, but still notable. It doesn't bother me personally. These laces feel "leaner" as opposed to a the usual poofy cotton.These also don't get "chunky" when dirty. I don't miss tying wet laces!
