Seems to be genuine obsidian
Nicely done. One side is polished to a gloss and the other side is satin gloss striated rough cut. I used a very bright flashlight to find out if the light would show through in a dark room. Can't see the light coming through, but the intense light from the flashlight reflector could be seen through it. Obsidian is so variable from clear to opaque, but this seems to be almost the same type of material used in Dr. Jon Dee's scrying mirror which supposedly also came from Mexico, but was of Aztec or Inca origin. Own one as a collectors item, but actually using it for it's original purpose can be dangerous and should be avoided.

Pretty pretty. Shiny, shiny.
I've not used this for scrying, but it is indeed as reflective as a mirror. I'll wait for warmer months and a full moon to try divination.

Misleading Plastic Toy
This item is not as described, it is a large piece of plastic. I have an obsidian mirror and this round chunk of black plastic is nothing like it for one thing stone is cool to the touch plastic is warm, the surface is all wrong. It would have served its purpose if it had been black glass. I am returning it!
