Holy Lamb Organics Wool Mattress Toppers (Queen Deep Sleep Topper)

This topper is very fluffy and it seems of very high quality. It had absolutely no smell right out of the box. Unfortunately, had to return because I found it very warm. It felt like sleeping on top of a furnace.

This mattress topper has literally saved my aching back--or, rather, aching hips. Wanting to remove toxins from my sleeping environment, several years ago I purchased online a very expensive (and VERY heavy) organic cotton wool-wrapped mattress from Royal Pedic. I also purchased the organic quilted wool mattress pad to go with it, which was billed as providing cushioning. It didn't. I like a firm mattress, but even with the pad this mattress is just plain HARD--so hard I woke up every morning and often in the middle of the night with my hips aching and shoulders sore (I'm a side sleeper). Pretty soon my left piriformis muscle was regularly spasming, causing a lot of pain. This from an all-natural, good-for-you mattress.I thought I was going to have to get rid of the very expensive (and did I mention heavy?) mattress and replace it with a conventional one, which I really didn't want to have to do. A friend recommended a memory foam pad. I wasn't thrilled with the idea but out of desperation I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and picked one up. This provided the cushioning I needed, but all that nasty foam kinda defeats the purpose of a "clean" sleeping environment. I also didn't like the sinking-in, "stuck" feeling of the memory foam, but at least it provided the padding the mattress needed. And my piriformis eventually stopped flaring.Fast forward a few years and enter Holy Lamb Organics Wool Mattress Topper. I was at amazon looking for a wool mattress pad for an inflatable mattress for guests and stumbled upon this wool topper--the heavens opened and angels began singing! Well, not exactly right then, given the price tag. But it was worth a try, and it has changed my life. The topper provides both cushioning and support--it's hard to describe the cozy, comforting feeling it gives. Like I imagine sleeping on a soft, gently supportive cloud might be. Part of it's in my head, I'm sure: I'm no longer sleeping on that nasty, clingy memory foam. My sleep has improved tremendously. It is well worth the price tag.Holy Lamb appears to be a fabulous company. With the topper they included tons of information about the company, their other products, product care, customer support, etc etc. They seem to really care about their products and customers. When it arrived, I put my nose right on the topper and sniffed in several places: no odor AT ALL. Holy Lamb recommends covering the topper with a (wool) mattress protector. I cover mine with my original (thin) wool mattress pad, and my fitted sheets fit just fine over all of that (I was concerned about this). After a couple of weeks of use, the topper does slightly compress in the spot where I tend to lie, like a mattress does, but it's easy to turn it, reverse it, etc, during a sheet change. And they recommend airing it out in the sun a few times a year, which will be easy for me to do here in sunny SoCal.VERY HAPPY!!!

Very good product. Didn’t fulfill my needs due to spinal condition.

I have been sleeping on my son's futon. Its primary purpose is a couch, so it is not as soft as a bed would be. Until he gets his shed converted to his office out back, there is nowhere to store his futon so I can replace it with a real bed. I started with the fluffiest mattress pad cover I could find locally, but it made little difference. This wool topper made a world of difference. I have slept on it for the past 4 nights, and what a difference it makes. I had a wool mattress pad cover on my king size bed in my last house, before I retired and moved to be near my children. I had that for 35 years, and when I sold the bed, the new owner wanted to keep it, so I let them, knowing I was downsizing. The wool products I have had are superior to the feather toppers, which leak feathers, or the foam toppers. I great night's sleep is worth the extra investment. When I eventually get my new bed, this transfers to that.

I have finally achieved mattress nirvana. It’s taken several mattresses of all types, and much frustration since I last slept well. Most recently, I bought a 6-inch Xinus Ultima Comfort Memory Mattress because I reasoned nothing that thin could possibly sag. I wasn’t crazy about the layer of memory foam that came with it but I knew I wanted latex instead of sag-prone springs from now on. Well, the lack of sag didn’t make up for the sweaty, trapped-in-place experience of memory foam. So I flipped it over -- even though it’s a non-flip mattress – and found latex.It’s very firm, and I was waking up feeling sore and beat up. Enter Holy Lamb organics wool mattress topper (Deep Sleep edition). Since it arrived, I have slept way better than I ever have, waking up rested and relaxed. It’s a miracle. I’ve justified the considerable expense -- the topper cost 74% more than the mattress (I hope the sheep are getting a cut) -- by reasoning that I’m spending 1/3rd of my life in bed. And I’m worth it.

For this kind of money honestly it didn’t do a darn thing what a waste of time and money very disappointed. You think the higher price point would mean a better quality product but nope.

Topper does compress but it's so much better than a synthetic topper. I love that it's all natural and I appreciate the company values. Easy to refresh by hanging outside in the sun. The thicker topper would be better padding/softness but this one is good enough for light padding.

Ordered this product for extra comfort on our Temperpedic bed. I sleep warm and my husband gets cold. It was a perfect combination for our comfort and added softness that memory beds lack.When I had a question their customer service team was very prompt and resolved the concern quickly.
