My favorite use is to put it in homemade alkaline BBQ sauce that was made from dates and mixed veggies! Its a beautiful color enhancer. Paprika aint got nothing on achiote! If you are looking for Annatto powder, this is exactly what you need to get. It will give all your cooking that beautiful red/orange color that you can get only from Annatto. A little of it goes a long way.

Nice clean simple packaging, “product of Peru” from seller Pinch Spice Market in Louisville KY. Missing an expiration and/or packaging date. I would like to assume it is fresh. However, I bought this package to replace one purchased on Amazon from another seller that sent me annatto that was packaged two years ago and expiring in a few weeks. So, I can’t assume this is fresh. But it could be. Packaging should be clearly marked with dates, in my opinion.
