The Savior in Kirtland: Personal Accounts of Divine Manifestations

Just what I needed to know in one specific place. Wonderful!

I loved this book. It was filled with experiences, some that I was familiar with and some that I was not. I gained a greater understanding of so much of the unseen treasures of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In answer to personal prayer to come to know Jesus as a man, Christ as the Son of God, and Jesus Christ as my Savior, I was led to this book. Reading an historical account of interactions was a different approach for me to come to understand the Savior's appearances in Kirtland as well as his eternal roles. Bro Anderson repeats and retells historical and scriptural accounts with great organization and explanations - even including the scattering and gathering of Israel in the best terms I've come across for understanding. He also 'saves' some treasures for the ending that brought me to tears. I'm thankful for answers to prayers and for the hard work that went into this book that Neal A Maxwell 'commissioned' him to write!

I was amazed to learn that Christ made more visits to people in Kirtland than is reported for all other places in history outside his mortal ministry in the Holy Land. Also that we have more direct quotes from Christ recorded from his manifestations in Kirtland than in all the other scriptures combined. I was impressed with the author's careful research and the inclusion of an index.

The research for this book was very extensive. I enjoyed the footnotes as much or more than the printed content.

This book connects all of the dots from ancient prophesies to their fulfillment in Kirtland. The rich history of the church is added upon by the compilation of the stories and journals of these early restoration saints who witnessed to fulfillment of prophesy and the restoration of the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His manifestation to many in Kirtland is testimony builder to say the least.

I enjoyed these stories regarding the Church’s history in Kirtland Ohio.

This is a great book! If you want to know more about God. It it is unique. The only book in the world to tell about the appearance of God, and his son Jesus in Kirtland, Ohio!
