have added at least 12 new repeaters to my radio memory because of it
Have had nothing but compliments about my signal and i reach at least 12 more repeaters in my area with this antenna. I would definitely recommend sealing all of the joints to prevent water intrusion over time. Was very easy to setup and SWR has been 1.3 or less

Little different
This is my third of the three wavelength stacked ground plate over the years I find to be my favorite for VHFUHF my other two were white and color. This one is a dark black in color. I’d presume that might help with the moisture dissipation because the black surface would pick up a little bit more heat, but we’ll see. Only problem with this one is after so many years will finally snap, the price is right and the performance well that’s awesome

A great antenna for non hilly areas!
30-40 ft. is all the height needed for a great signal. But one weak point is the base of fiber glass is to weak for high wind areas! They tend to break in high wind at the base mount.

Poorly constructed
Poorly constructed with thin fiber glass, missing hardware. Antenna had 2.5 SWR when test with my analyzer. I'm an extra class Ham and have been in the hobby for 35 years, just FYI.

Most gain for the money.
I installed this vertical antenna in less than 30 minutes. It was a relatively simple assembly with minimal tools needed. Once on the tower, I saw a substantial improvement in received signals from local repeaters, both VHF and UHF, over the Comet GP-1 that I replaced.I opted for this Tram 1481 over the Comet GP-9 solely due to price. I've had the GP-9 in the past and found it to be an exceptional antenna, but the cost has gone up considerably in the few years so the Tram seemed the obvious choice. All the reviews elsewhere online indicated that moisture ingress is a failing of this design, so I took appropriate measures to ensure proper weatherproofing at the section joints. The black finish is a nice touch to keep the antenna as inconspicuous as possible.I would have given 5 stars, but until some time has passed, the durability has yet to be seen.

Best Value for the gain and reach regardless if its using 144mhz,MURS,440 Mhz or GMRS, low SWR.
I've used this Tram VHF/UHF Antenna for 2 meter ham networking, MURS AMRON traffick, 440 mhz Ham traffic and GMRS with excellent reports and results. To ward off increment moisture, I purchased some Black Duck Tape which I wrapped securely over each of the 3 connection joints. The Black Duck Tape blends in with the black fiberglass antenna and thus far handles moderately stiff 50 mph gusting winds well. I recommend this antenna.

Great reception
With this antenna 📡 up 50 feet I'm getting repeaters over 100 miles away. SWR is 1.1 , across all vhf using 100 feet of RG8x.
