Miele B3847 Fashionmaster System Lotus Ironing Board Cover, White/Black

I bought this ironing system after owning a LauraStar ironing board for 7 years without any problems. I really liked the idea of the easy foldout and space saving design. Well, ten months later and I couldn't be more disappointed. The iron takes roughly 9 minutes to heat up, which is about right for a steam iron like this one. The problems is that after 15 minutes the iron turns off automatically. So if you switch on your iron and go do a few chores if you don't come back after 9 minutes but not more than 15 minutes it turns off and you have to start again. Usually the second heat up is about 5 minutes. Super annoying. Also the fold up feature has just broken and I am connecting Miele about fixing that right now. If you are on the fence between Miele and Laura Star, go with the Laura Star.

I purchased this ironing system because I love the modern look and feel. When setting up for the first time, I had a similar issue with the board not locking into place. A quick read of the manual revealed that if the height adjustment on the board is not all the way down, the board won't lock into place. Once I lowered the board, it easily clicked into place. The system is amazing and does the job as described. I would recommend this ironing system to anyone capable of reading a manual.

This one did arrive but when we tried to lock the ironing board in place it would not lock in. Now it will not even close back all the way to get it back in the box. The seller referred us to Miele and Miele is sending a technician out to get it closed so we can send it back. The seller assured us of a full refund upon return of the unit, so no problem there. And Miele was good to deal with, as was Amazon. This is just unfortunate.
