This was just what I needed to put USB extension cables thay mount into the base of my monitor arm.

In the world of consumer cables there is a monumental amount of crap. This cable meets or exceeds it's claims, and a female cable without a shroud is extremely hard to find apparently so I'm glad Tripp lite made this. It's expensive, but the saturated market of bad cables forces it to be. A+ job done here.

TIP: Get the extra feet of length (10 ft or longer), even if you don't need it all. It will give you room to adjust your setup AND you can always tie-up the extra cord & tuck it out of sight.PROS: It's fast! I've not used it for charging, but to power USB devices around my computer rig & laptop (drives, webcams, lighting, etc). Well-made, solid connections, cable is rugged, reinforced jackets around the plugs. All of the essentials! GREAT to have, if using a USB hub (to centralize connections & reduce cable runs) is NOT on your agenda. I'm in the IT field & can tell you that basic USB hubs are a last-resort, as they can introduce a lot of unexpected problems.

To be honest, I'm not sure what a /cable/ would have to look like to not be as "sheer" as possible. YMMV.This certainly works.Use it between a USB 3.0 port and a USB 3.0 device, and you get USB 3.0 performance.Use it between a USB 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 device, and you get USB 2.0 performance.What else need be said?

Feels a little cheap but that might not dictate that the product is bad, got it today and it does it’s job, we will see how long it lasts and I’ll come back and edit the review if anything goes wrong with it.

These are EXCELLENT cables. They are nice to look at because of their blue color and are very sturdy. I would buy them again.

This is working much better for my 3 external hard drives going to a USB powered switch. Before they would disconnect.

The cables that came with my screen arm were blue and did not seem right in my setup, so I change them for these. They work fine (I bought 2) and the velocity seems right for an USB 3.0 connection

It worked as advertised for my new iMac. No issues. (Solves the problem of having to reach behind the computer each time to plug devices in.)There still aren't a lot of everyday USB 3.0 products out there by the big brands (particularly in USB 3.0 hubs), surprisingly. And I've just read that a new version of USB is coming out next year will be almost as fast as Thunderbolt (I suppose they'll call the new version USB 4.0). If you're looking for a USB 3.0 hub, Tripp-Lite also makes one though I have no idea if it's reliable or not.Belkin makes one that works (because I've got one), though I noticed that it makes a subtle, almost subsonic, humming sound depending on how close you are to it. Maybe Tripp-Lite's version is quieter, though it's of the type that doesn't require an AC adapter.

Es una excelente opción para usuarios que tienen sus puertos USB 3.0 algo retirados, yo las uso en una PC gamer para no doblar tanto los cables del teclado y mouse (ambos están conectados a un multi puerto USB 3.0). Excelente precio y la calidad es aceptable.
