Aventik FLK Fly Fishing Reel Aluminum Trout 3/5, 5/7, 7/9wt Large Arbor Freshwater Fly Reel

Really nice reel. I tried the 5/6 before ..wasn't impressed with the green and the build had slop. Gave the blue 7/8 a shot to complete a sporty little bass rod....just what I was looking for drag is nice and this is a great working mans reel . the slop problem does not exist and this time around it was nicely deburred and the tolerance is very tight no wobble. And a nice drag clicker sound ... nice cheap little hot rod.

Let's start with a frame of reference. I have been fly fishing for over 40 years. During this time I have owned some nicer reels, some very expensive rods and some top shelf fly lines.Unless you are someone who sees their backing going out, other than changing lines, this reel is Perfect.People who talk about these high end reels with their truck stopping drags but chase Fresh Water species make me laugh, A LOT !!!This reel is light, smooth and the finish is fine. The drag is easy to adjust and seems to hold settings so far. Quite frankly, buy this reel and take the money you are saving and buy a decent line or see a casting coach. Either one of those choices is a better option than buying a more expensive reel.

Arrived on time and in good shape. It's a nice reel. Not high end, if you've ever used a high dollar Sage reel, you know what I mean. But for the price, it's tough to do better. Good feel, nice drag system. Like the arbor design. In my world, I'm in the group that says put more money in the rod than in the reel. having said that, this reel is pretty much all you need even on a high end rod. It fits the bill and looks quite stylish IMO. Worht the money for sure.

I'm really impressed by this reel. It's extremely smooth and the drag seems very good. I have yet to put it to a real test, but I'm pretty sure it will perform well. The price is what is truly astounding. The feel and quality of this reel is equal to many others that cost 5 times as much or more.

Right out of the box it was a ease toBack line and tip , drag is that of a $100 plus and so is the feel and weight . So For under 40 bucks it’s a must buy for beginners to advanced or even Big Brand guys like myself who see the benefits of multiple rigs ready to play

The chest pack and other accessories were decent enough. i purchased this package almost exclusively for the reel. It works successfully most of the times. However, the drag can loosens by itself. It can randomly change the drag. It will come extremely loose, I will pull out a little line and before I can realize it, half of the line is sitting on the floor next to my feet. And if I tighten the drag enough to keep it from loosening, its to tight to use it normally. The reel seems like it should/could be a nice product. But the drag system does not operate correctly for very long. That's pretty disappointing.

I bought this as a cheap spare and it has stood up to many fishing trips and a lot of abuse, and caught many fish.

I gave it 4 stars because the first reel I ordered had problems. The spool rubbed on the frame and the drag was very uneven. Amazon replaced it quickly and the new reel is really very nice. It's CNC machined aluminum with a good looking hard anodized finish. The drag on this one is smooth and it's lighter than a die cast reel. This is the best reel you're going to find for under 35 bucks anywhere. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a good reel that won't break the bank.

An awesome reel for the price. The craftsmanship is perfect, drag works well, it hold lots of backing and line, 100% recommend.

I have two of these 7/9 great long backing with line and backing over 400ft

Rusty and spool rubs on the frame (probably from some rust).Also this is small for a 7/9

spent a lot of time trying to set drag, either full on or off. Got it right, added line, it was to far on. Adjusted a few times, put it on rod & cast. Out wack again. Had it adjusted almost right but noticed i could see the inside of the spindle. So i returned it as unusable. no issues on a refund.
