The sound quality on this recorder is good. The operation of the device is intuitive. The company provides excellent no-hassle customer support. I would recommend this device to anyone who is a writer and sometimes has flashes of inspiration while driving or in other situations where it is not convenient to take written notes. This can also be used to record: a dream diary, college classes, and/or interviews.

It picks up sounds from a distance as well, so it's a matter of getting used to it's range. I have learned to keep it at least 10 feet away from whatever is being recorded. I am very pleased with the way this little thing works.

Obviously there are(more expensive) devices out there that will provide a better quality recordings, but I think that for this price this one is great! I would love it if it had a pause button.

I bought this in hopes of recording work meetings to be able to draft minutes/notes from. I found it does not pick up a person speaking from across a conference room very well at all. You have to be right in front of it to get decent voice audio quality. So unfortunately it hasn't worked well for what I had hoped. It might work well for someone dictating notes into it or recording a close conversation one on one.

Four stars minus One because of Date/Time function. This device does not have a real-time clock so, when one sets the Date/Time, via software, it is static. If a ballpark Date/Time is important, you would want to capture a static date before recording. I really like everything else about the device. I would buy again.
