Brilliant, highly recommended for both new & experienced dog owners. Genuine insight into how dogs think & what you can expect from them. I wish I had read it before getting my first (rescue) dog. We got there in the end & this book certainly helped along the way.

This book really is a must for every dog owner. It gives you the knowledge of why dogs act in a certain way and this better understanding of your dog enables you to care for your dog in a much more effective way. It does not subscribe to any particular training theory (it is not a training book) it just gives you the knowledge to be able to react to your dog in a positive way. I have five dogs, some who work and show, some who are 'house dogs' and this book has proved incredibly valuable.

I love Bruce Fogel's books and this one has been a huge help as for the first time (over many years and many dogs) I have a pup who wants to be dominant (although a clown, never aggressive!). I went back to square one as though I was a new owner and the results have been amazing. My pup is now a year old and beautifully behaved, so Thank You Bruce! Highly recommended.
