Excellent if you get it from the right seller
There are tons of bad clippers from sellers in general. Lots of rusty blades or used returns that aren't cleaned to factory spec before being resold. I got mine from BoxBeauty through Amazon fulfillment and it was brand new. I can tell because I recently got a Pro Alloy Fade directly from Andis and it came in the same condition. The blade was well oiled and protected by the black sheath, the chord was wrapped and twist tied, and the guards come in a sealed plastic bag. The bets part is the seller included the updated guards with this. The box picture indicates blades 0-8 are included. The original run of these guards had a 0 and 1 blade that were way too close in size, making the 0 unusable. This seller included the updated set which not only corrects the sizing issue, but also contains a 1/2 guard and a 1 1/2 guard to bridge the gap between 1 and 2.I am not a professional barber. I cut my own hair, and my brother's once in a while, and the occasional friend. So take my review with that in mind. The machine itself is very nice. Its quite the upgrade from the pivot motor based speedmaster II I was using before this. The magnetic motor feels powerful when you turn on the machine. It gives that nice "crack" letting you know its ready to go. The machine is relatively quiet and doesn't vibrate much, probably because the Motor is 7200spm as opposed to the flagship models that run at 14000spm.The lower spm leads to a relatively cool cutting experience. All machines eventually get hot but this one (and the fade version which has the same motor) only really get warm, not burning hot. I still purchased cooling spray and extra oil to keep it maintained as long as possible. The guards it comes with are pretty good. They're not as nice as the double magnet purple guards, but those will not fit on this machine due to the screw spacing. If yours comes with the updated guard set then you really don't need to buy the single magnet purple guards unless you just like having the magnetic hold or you already have them. It's really nice to have those in between guards of 1/2 and 1 1/2. Skilled barbers don't need them, but for a self cutter like me its nice to have safety nets. The blade is sharp and can be zero gapped. My set came dead even and did not require alignment. (my Andis Pro Alloy fade needed to be adjusted to be aligned straight and that came straight from Andis!) It has a nice range of travel on the lever. The lever itself however is plastic so eventually It can break/wear down, this happened on my old speedmaster and I just replaced it. The comb part of the blade seems textured instead of polished smooth like most blades I've owned. The screws are set farther apart than the flagship models so you CAN'T put those blades on this machine. You also CAN'T use the double magnet purple guards. Single magnet fit just fine. Zero gapping is also really easy on these.I emailed Andis about an issue I had with a T-outliner and their response was they would fix it right away or send me a new one. They seem to honor their warranty. Food for thought if you're worried about support for the machine.

Andis clippers without the heat of Andis Masters
All the reliability of an Andis corded clipper without the heat of the Andis Masters. I've had mine for several month now and the cut very well. I've only bogged them down once and that was in thick wet hair. If you cut for hours on end like I often do; these are the Andis for you.

Powerful and solid
I am not a pro. I started cutting my own hair a few months into the pandemic. I keep my hair short and always got a buzz cut anyway. I was using an old Oster home use clipper that was ok but not powerful. In addition to my own hair I started cutting hair for two other people in my house. Easy to justify the cost of good clippers if you are doing three people’s hair. I chose this clipper because it was top rated and recommended by a lot of pros. I don’t like cordless stuff. I prefer the convenience and power of corded. The first two things you notice are the solid build quality and power. It feels well made in your hand. I have no problem cutting through my son’s thick hair in one stroke. The Oster would bind up and pull the hair. I like all the guards. You have a lot of options for cut length and it makes it easy to blend.Overall I definitely recommend this for home use. I’m not a pro so I can’t say if it’s good for a shop but based on the pro reviews, I’m sure it is. If you are going to do your own hair instead of going to a barber, it will pay for itself after a few uses so no reason not to go for the more expensive quality clipper. With just a few uses a month, I’m sure this will be the last clipper I will ever buy.

Amazon, please stop lying to your customers about products that should be new and is not.
Upon checking my andis clippers, it was used but Amazon may have tried to service it before delivery. I was taking apart the clippers razor and seen specs of hair in between. Luckily it wasn't much to be noticed but I seen it had oil on the handle and went on to further inspect the razors as my curiosity sparked. So I know this clipper was used because of a few things. 1. The razor guard was scratched. 2. Specs of hair in between razor was found upon inspection to zero gap the clippers. 3. The box was not in new condition, corners were bent/damaged obviously been through use. Besides all that I am happy with the product but I dislike the fact that I can tell indeed Amazon had this device returned before and was serviced in-house before my delivery. They are good at doing this. Please be weary when buying clippers from Amazon. If you are okay with these issues and can clean and disinfect before usage then go for it. Other than that, the clippers performed well I just don't know how long these have been used for. I know Amazon carries replacement blades and such for customers to purchase so they have incredible tech personnel to keep up maintenance on returnable/salvageable items.

Andis trimmer rock!
Andis equipment is far better that most of the Wahl stuff that I have tried. This trimmer works just as well as the one my barber uses.

Seems solid
I like that its sturdy and doesn't seem as cheap as other plastic ones. However, when i plugged in the cord it made a weird popping sound, then it smelled like something burnt (grease or a component?) but it still worked fine. Made the popping noise again once turned on and more burnt smell but still works though. I'll be trying it out soon and see if it holds up....

Oh Yeah!
Been cutting my own hair for 25 years. Tried one of these my brother had and couldn't order it fast enough. Way better than the Department store Wahl I was using. Cuts clean and first time through, no chattering or pulling, even the attachments are better made. Not having a cord a huge bonus. can't rate battery life yet.

A Solid Unit for the Price
Reliable. It cuts even and consistent right out of the box. The motor has held up well after seven full uses lasting around 20 minutes each. The housing doesn’t slip in my hand when I change angles. It doesn’t get too hot.The “whisper quiet” label is typical advertising...it’s not much quieter than the average stylist’s clippers. Remember to clean and oil the blades after you use them. I haven’t used the guards. Overall, I like them.
