Now these two, not so friendly people, need to be there for each other.From the first page, I am immediately caught up with the struggles of the characters before and after the fire. There are teary moments, smiles, joy, personal successes, a few twists, and a big “I didn’t see that coming” moment.What I love most about this author’s writing style Is the way she brings the characters to life. You experience the emotions, good and bad, that the characters experience. Aly Martinez did a superb job showing the pain of loss, the slow journey of recovery, and finally moving on in a new direction. If you are like me when you reach the final page, this story will linger with you.I love the hero in this story. Eason stole my breath. His pain and guilt are tangible emotions that carry through from the book to my heart. The journey from start to finish is incredible. Eason and Bree go from putting up with each other though anger, learning who they are, to supportive, then friendship.Bree doesn’t start out as a favorite, but she grows on me as the story is revealed.Love the children! Often, they steal the show. Luna, Madison, and Asher are so cute with their hijinks and the way they support each other, and their parents. Asher and Eason are a hoot. Their lighthearted antics, soften the worry and despair of Eason and Bree.I highly recommend From the Embers. In Aly Martinez style, you will experience the story while reading it. She is so good at making all the emotions bubble up in me. What a read! I can't wait for the audio. I need this story again.

I randomly downloaded this one on KU and I’m so glad I did! I really enjoyed this story of healing and restoration in the aftermath of tragedy.The book follows Eason and Bree who are married to each others best friend and not the biggest fan of the other! They are with their spouses at a game night when Eason and Jessica’s house explodes! Eason desperately searches for his wife in the fire and carries her from the wreckage only to discover that the woman in his arms is Bree, not his wife!The journey of Eason, Bree, and their children trying to put their lives back together is full of grief, guilt, anger and all of the emotions you would expect. Soon secrets and lies are exposed and the truth rocks their entire world.This book will take you on a roller coaster ride full of twists and turns, ups and downs!It’s only 280 pages, so a fast paced, quick read with amazing character development!It’s my first read by Aly Martinez, but I definitely want to read more!

This book was an emotional read be sure to get some tissues you will need them as well as get ready for twists you never see coming. When a situation leaves two families lives broken with grief and trauma, how do they continue on day by day. Eason has been struggling for a while even before losing his wife now he doesn't know what to do. Bree is lost in grief and blames Eason for her loss struggling with her life. When these two start leaning on each other for support it's the first time they start to feel like they are healing. This book is an emotional journey with so much passion, heartwarming times, love, caring and wit that will make you smile. You will fall in love with Bree and Eason as they find each other after tragedy strikes and twists break their hearts even more. This book was a joy to read even when your heart is breaking by the end it will be full of love.

El “blurb” nos dice un poco acerca de la historia pero no nos quita todas la sorpresas que contiene el texto.Eason es de los nuevos book boyfriends. Me encanta él, su forma de ser y su forma de pensar. Bree es de mis heroínas favoritas sin duda. La forma en la que dice las cosas, su forma de querer. Son una pareja increíble y su historia es cero convencional pero hermosa.No es insta-Love sino algo que construyen y me gusta que ellos son esta linda versión gracias al otro. Este libro comprueba que mucha gente te ayuda a ser tu mejor versión y que cuando encuentras a ese ser, es imposible no sentirte feliz a pesar de haber experimentado la tragedia.ENG ::This was my first “Aly Martínez” book and I loved it! The story was unexpected, original and amazing. The blurb gives us a glimpse but it does not prepare us for all the amazing and surprising things that happen in the story.Eason is a book boyfriend of mine for sure! I loved him. His personality, way of thinking and acting. He’s the best. And Bree 💜... one of my favorite heroines. How she expressed her feelings, her thoughts, the way she loves. They are an amazing couple together and their love is something they build and not an insta-love kind of thing.My favorite message was how you definitely can be your best version with the correct person. They came from tragedy but with patience and friendship, they build this incredible family. What a story!

Wow what an amazing heartfelt, heart tugging story filled with twists and turns!! This is a must read as it captivated me from page one, absolutely loved Eason and Bree!! Aly Martinez is a new author to me and after reading From the Embers I am anxious to read her other stories. Her writing is so authentic and real that her characters came to life. You felt all the good, bad and ugly along with them. Loved everything about this story!!!

Cette histoire est magnifique !Je l'ai découvert grâce à tik tok et je remercie cette découverte !Eason est marié à Jessica et ont un bébé de 6 mois Luna.Bree est mariée à Rob et ont deux enfants Asher 5 ans et Maddison 10 mois.Rob et Eason sont meilleurs amis ainsi que Jessica Et Bree.En revanche les relations sont tendues entre Bree et Eason car selon elle il n'est pas l'homme dont sa meilleure amie a besoin.Un jour où ils sont tous les 4 ensembles, sans les enfants, il y a une explosion dans la maison et elle prends feu.Eason se réveille dans une maison dévastée. Il cherche après les autres et finit par trouver sa femme dans les décombres. Il la prends dans ses bras pour la sortir de là en se disant qu'il reviendra pour les deux autres.Sauf que dehors, il se rends compte que c'est bree dans ses bras et non sa femme. Et la maison explose de nouveau mettant fin a tout espoir de retrouver Rob et Jessica vivants.A partir de là, Bree et Eason vont devoir apprendre a se connaître et se serrer les coudes pour le bien de leurs enfants respectifs.

Downloaded this a few weeks ago and just got around to reading it today have just finished it, couldn't put it down.Excellent story with a totally unexpected twisty ending.Would highly recommend this book and so very well written.Another great author to follow, hope Aly's other books are as good as this one.
