Fender Precision Bass ...not so precision
This product is faulty where the 3 lower strings gradually shift to the right to where the E string is about 1/8 inch off. The 2 lower strings are completely shifted to where the bass guitar does not correctly pick-up the strings and the signal is weak.I paid a premium from this store and it appears that they sell irregular items as new. This is supposed to be a NEW Fender precision bass. Not precision at all.

Worth it every buck you‘ve paid,
Powerful and deep P Bass quick. Great product even if done in Mexico. Lots of sounds combinations are possible using the 3 equalizer buttons. Bridges are strong and firm. Pro-product for an honest price. Highly recommended.

Noticeable cosmetic defects
UPDATE 9/23/19 - After contacting Fender, they suggested I take it to a local warranty service location. That location was able to quickly fix the issue so I'm upgrading my rating. Original review below:These seem like very nice instruments if you get a good one, but mine arrived with bubbles in the paint. I returned it for a refund. (Two stars)

DREAM bass
I NEVER write reviews but this beauty had only 3 stars so I need to set the record straight for potential buyers. I kinda hesitated buying cuz of those 3 stars. So this short review is for those who may be doubting. Even though I'm mainly a singer/guitarist, I started playing bass 25 years ago. I had bought a $600 P Bass from Amazon 2 years ago and liked it very much. I felt I needed an upgrade and oh my god, WHAT A BASS. This is a totally different experience from my other P Bass. Much thinner neck, the 4 controls give you endless options to your sound. When I opened the box, swear to God, I thought I had received a short-scale by mistake due to the slimness of this baby. DONT HESITATE FOR A SECOND getting one of these. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Ok bye.

Its a P/J bass, but MUST be setup
The biggest issue with this new series of basses is the setup tats required. Its a realy good bass but it will require a few good hours of neck, intonation, and bridge adjustment, PLUS fret leveling and crowning. Once thats done you have a GREAT Fender for about 1.2 the price of a USA made equivalent.

Serious QC issues
I have been playing bass in bands for 20 years & recently decided to give this a try as a backup. Man, There are MUCH cheaper/easier ways to go about it. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Here are the things that were wrong with this bass out-of-the-box from the factory:1) Intermittent crackle from the active side of the electronics. Haven't tracked this down yet, but I suspect a bad opamp.2) Pickups were set extemely high, resulting in a gross tone and weird overtone issues (magnetic interference with the strings from the pickups being too close). When I lowered the bridge pickup a few turns, one of the screws immediately stripped out its hole in the wood. Nothing that a match stick and super glue can't fix, but COME ON.3) Intonation was a quarter inch out. I expect to have to tweak a bass from the factory, but this one was just eyeballed. There's no way it was even close. More on the bad setup later.4) While investigating the crackle from the active electronics, I found that the ground wire to the bridge is not soldered. The factory attempted to solder it (there's solder in one of the holes on the back of the bridge) but the metal is so cheap that solder won't stick to it, so they gave up and just TUCKED IT BETWEEN THE BRIDGE AND THE BODY. That's right, the ground was not fastened to the bridge at all. Press fit. I attempted to solder it, but ran into the same issue the factory worker did. So, I wrapped it around one of the body anchor screws, tightened it down, and called it good enough. Fixing the ground did not, unfortunately, eliminate the crackle from the active electronics.5) As I was putting the bridge back on after fixing the ground, I noticed one of the legs from the A string bridge saddle was resting peacefully against the bridge pickup. That's right, the setup from the factory had the bridge so out-of-whack that loosening the strings caused a saddle screw to fall out because it was simply backed all the way out by the factory tech. Yuck.6) Intermittent crackle still exists in the active side of the electronics. No issue from the passive side. The crackle is completely intermittent and I cannot purposefully cause it to happen with any combination of cable-wiggling or knob spinning. After spending an afternoon fixing this bass up, it's ok as backup. However, "spending an afternoon fixing up a bass" is NOT something you should have to do with an $800 piece new from the factory. That's firmly "I found an old beater in a pawn shop for $50" territory.Which is a bummer, because this COULD be a really good bass. It just never should've left Fender's assembly line as it was.Edit: I have "solved" the intermittent crackle issue. It's a design flaw with the wiring of the noiseless bridge pickup. As you play, the pole pieces absorb & pass on some of the natural static charge from the string friction against your fingers. This buildup ends up somewhere in the preamp, and then intermittently discharges every once in a while, resulting in a crackle. I put a single strip of black electrical tape over the pole pieces of the bridge pickup to electrically isolate them from ambient static, and the crackling issue immediately went away. Also, the pot furthest to the rear in the control cluster had two of its pins smashed together (they weren't supposed to be). I straightened them out but didn't notice any difference in sound of functionality. All in all this bass really must've been built "built on a Friday." Fender Mexico can sometimes punish you HARD just to save a few bucks, which is why the old adage of "go try it in the store" still holds true. Now that all the gremlins are worked out, I am happy with this bass and will gig with it. However, my 1 star score remains because of the ridiculous hoops that needed to be jumped through to make it playable.Edit #2: Found the source of the bridge P/U crackle issue...the magnet in the bridge pickup is shattered! I just keep finding more and more problems with this bass. Complete lemon, electronically. The wood and plastic are fine, at least.

Good one
Great sound and playability, would be good to have active passive volume at the same level.
