It’s GREEEAAAT! Doesn’t slip!
Beautiful. The plastic scent is SUPER mild so I know it will go away completely soon as I air it out. Sticky! I already tested out with downward dog which lots of people said it was slipping and I had no issues on my tile floor. (Mind you I have laminate at my house but staying with my parents currently they have tile floor, so might be different once I go back home). My hands and feet stick to the mat but in a good way. I have a good grip but I can shift from position to position with ease. The thickness is good. I have arthritis in my knees so I was concern about the thickness but it doesn’t hurt my knees which is great. I’m boney in the hips and spine so a lot of times the positions on my back that need rocking or shifting with the weight on the lower back and hips area usually hurts and it’s the same with this mat though, definitely would be much better with a thicker mat. However, that’s just my body. So I’m SUPER SUPER HAPPY with my purchase. I HIGHLY recommend you try it out. It has life time warranty which is great and if you don’t like just return to Amazon within the return policy. It’s not expensive so it’s worth the try!

Great mat for comfort and stability! Over a year and still looks and feels new.
I do all levels and advanced vinyasa yoga. This mat is thick enough that I don’t feel the wooden floors of the studio digging into me, but also thin enough that I don’t have to worry too much about it potentially affecting my balance.I have lupus and have issues with my joints, so I wanted something with a little bit of cushion. I couldn’t find anything reasonable, both size/thickness wise and budget wise. I eventually came across this mat and decided to give it a try. I’ve found that it’s done a lot to help make me feel comfortable and to be confident in my posture and footing. The design is very nice, and even after over a year of regular use, the design is still very visible. I haven’t had any of the mat itself flake or run away and it’s still in one piece. It doesn’t show signs of wear. It’s easy to roll up and carry. It's great about not stretching while you’re using it for yoga (I’ve had mats in the past where my downward dog would become weird looking push-ups). It’s not going to start slipping across the floor. I don’t find my feet slipping, either, but my hands sometimes do (that might be more user error than the mat as I tend to sweat a lot from my hands). One downside would be that, because it’s a bit of a thicker mat, if it’s rolled up for too long or left in a hot car, the edge of the mat where you started the roll might curl upwards. I usually place a block or my phone at the edge and it holds it down without a problem and tends to flatten by the end of class.

The perfect mat for me
I've been on a mission these last few months to find the perfect yoga mat for me, and this Gaiam is the one I keep coming back to. It's not the most expensive mat out there, but it's not exactly cheap, either. It has a really nice thickness to it that provides a good amount of cushioning, but I don't sink in or feel my feet slipping during poses. It's sticky, but not too sticky. Most importantly, it doesn't move around on carpet, which is important since the only space I have to practice in my small condo is carpeted. (I tried out a few mats that made me feel like I was trying to balance on a banana peel because they constantly moved on the carpet, so that is something that was very important to me!)It doesn't hurt that this mat is nice to look at. I love all of the colors and find them soothing to look at as I practice.I've only been using the mat for about a month, so I can't speak to durability yet. But I have used it 3 times per week since it arrived and it still looks brand new, so fingers crossed!Overall, I would definitely recommend this mat. In fact, I like it so much I'm tempted to get another one in a different color. Because I like having options to suit my mood. ;-)

Pretty color but plan time to air it out.
This mat looks great but it has a strong chemical odor that's distractimg when your sitting or lying on it (ex child's pose with forehead on mat). Anyone sensitive to odors may wish to plan to buy it well in advance to give it time to air out. Otherwise it peforms well. It's slightly thicker tha some mats so is comfortable yet still portable. This makes it versatile for more fitness purposes than just yoga. My feet didn't slip or stick. It's a good value. If it holds up I may change my review to 5 star but for now I have to give it 4 stars for the odor

Smells at first but then it is great
So gorgeous. A beautiful plum ombre color. Makes me so happy to practice. It did and does still smell after a few days, but it seems the smell is disapating. Perfect amount of cushion but not so much I fall over in one legged balance poses like dancer or tree.

The BEST yoga mat—from a fellow yogi!
I have been doing yoga for over 10 years and have cycled through my fair share of yoga mats.I’ve had the expensive Lululemon mats, and although the designs are cool and they are durable, they stain easily, are super heavy to lug around (6+ lbs for the 6 mm ones), and are NOT non-slip (in my opinion, even though they—along with nearly all yoga mats—are marketed as being non-slip). I have never had an issue with staining, weight, or slipping on Gaiam mats.I actually started yoga with a very inexpensive Gaiam mat, which got the job done but wasn’t thick enough to support during certain poses (like boat pose and others when you are resting on one knee) and it fell apart after using it 1-3x a week for a year (the areas where my hands and feet are placed in downward dog started ripping up and little pieces kept falling off), so I was hesitant to go back to a Gaiam. This mat, however, is more premium than the one I had before. I love that it is offered in so many different colors and styles. It’s beautiful, lightweight yet thick for excellent support, and sticky enough to hold poses. As for durability, only time will tell, but from other reviews, it seems to hold up well. I may even buy another one for home use if they go on sale for Black Friday 😊😊😊

Best yoga mat
The media could not be loaded. This is by far the best yoga mat I’ve ever owned. Thick (6mm), feels high quality and the anti-slip is an added plus. Super happy with this purchase!

NOT FOR HOT YOGA - NOT ANTI SLIP
It came with a few imperfections that I decided to not pay attention to. But whats’s important to know is that YOUR HANDS WILL SLIDE!! Even for a dry workout at home.I wish I could return it, but it’s too late now!I tried a B-MAT Strong at my yoga studio today and made a big difference on how I hold my poses so I’ll going for that! That’s what most of the instructors and people in my yoga class use, other than the lululemon ones that I won’t pay 💰Just don’t get this one unless is to do crunches in your living room. It is cushiony for that!
