Practical, Research Based, Inspiring
This book will inspire you - whether you are a parent, education, interventionist, therapist, or more - to not give up on literacy for children and adults with complex communication needs. Individuals with significant disabilities can gain more communicative control over their environment through literacy, and this book gives real examples and practical ways to explore and achieve literacy for all. We used the book's suggestions and methods in therapy with children aged 4 - young adults and saw PROGRESS. Progress in spelling, progress in recognizing their names, and progress in using the keyboard on their AAC devices to find/spell words.

Contains strategies that a teacher can use in his or her classroom ASAP!
This book is VERY teacher friendly. I read it and have strategies that I will start to implement in my classroom ASAp. The book also explained the ‘why’ behind certain instructional recommendations. I feel equipped with research based strategies to improve my students’ education AND the ability to answer questions about the methods I will use. Thank you!
