Frankly, almost $200.00 for a star diagonal is a pill hard to swallow.Do you remember when you got your first Celestron, Mead, Orion or other quality telescope? Remember the eye pieces with the 9mm exit pupil? Yes, you bought an expensive telescope with inferior eyepieces. Did you stop to think that the star diagonal was just as cheap? Well, it was.Like any optics system, the telescope is only as good as the cheapest component. I immediately replaced my eyepieces with several TeleVue eye pieces. I now have 4 different telescopes and I use the same TeleVue eyepieces with each. Now I added the TeleVue star diagonal.The difference between the TeleVue and factory supplied star diagonal are as different as night and day! The TeleVue star diagonal is noticeably brighter!I will use the TeleVue star diagonal switching between each of my telescopes. This was one of the biggest improvements I have made to my telescopes!

Clarity is perfect.

Wouldn't think something so simple would make a difference but it really does with the view. But lock ring is making it unusable causing the scope to bounce bad losing objects just to change eyepiece.

If you want the best, this is your choice. The image is excellent. My last diagonal was a Meade Diagonal.
