Disappointing - performance and service
I'd hoped to use this pump in our garden irrigation system. I'd calculated that I needed about 600 GPH, as installed the pump would be below the water source (zero lift) and would have a head of less than 10 feet. According to the performance chart in the description, those conditions should have resulted in about 1,250 GPH. When the pump arrived I tested it by connecting it to the water source and timed it as it filled a five gallon bucket. The actual output, over a several trials, was under 500 GPH.On top of that, the pump comes with a warning that it should not be run dry (the impeller is lubricated by the fluid being pumped), so I contacted the seller to see if spares were available. With the exception of the motor brushes, they are not. I replied, asking if the impeller was a generic item that might be available from a third-party source. It's been a week, and so far no reply.Which brings us to the motor and its brushes, the pump comes with two sets of spare brushes. I suppose that should be a warning, but in any case there is also a warning in the instructions that "brushed motors run at about 90 dB." Translated into simple English, this pump is LOUD. Unpleasantly so.I decided to return it.

overall it's more like 12-15 ft)
It's a pain to prime since the priming hole is small and it's pumping 250GPH actual with a 10 ft suction and 10 ft head (being generous, overall it's more like 12-15 ft). It obviously pulls a lot more than the 8A as stated on the box, but I won't have exact numbers until I put it on a amp meter.

Works good for intended purpose
Works good for intended purpose, but motor brushes wore out after about 10 hours of use over 2 months. The prior pump I owned, and used it similarly lasted 100's of hours over 20 years! I'm extremely dissatisfied with the quality of this pump!
