Depends on type of dog.
Tried this out of desperation.Having to live in a van for a few months with two jack Russell type dogs who bark at every little noise, or whenever we pull up to park, was driving me nuts!It seems to have worked on one of our dogs. After a couple of barks, she definitely got the message and has calmed right down. The only trouble is our other dog is highly strung (I think he's got dimensia?), he seems to 'un learn' things and even turning the settings on maximum has little affect on him barking like a lunatic ...sometimes he doesn't even know what he's barking at 🙄Unfortunately his barking sets off the other dogs collar, so she gets bleeped and buzzed even when she's quiet, bless her. It's all a right racket with both collars going constantly !I even tried putting 2 collars on him but he just seems unable to stop himself. We've had to take them off the dogs and they are hung up in the van most of the time ...that doesn't stop them bleeping and buzzing when the dogs start off in the van though ...I'm not sure what's worse?I think these collars probably work ok on most normal dogs ....just not on our nutjob (though he is not as bad as he was a few weeks ago).Sorry if this review isn't much help.

Worked for our puppy
Battery didn't last too long but for us it was money well spent... only needed to be put on once and our puppy got the message not to bark...we just need to mention barky collar and she stops barking...the noise distracted and confused her enough to stop the barking immediately

Bought this to deal with our dog whining whenever we left the house to go shopping.
To start, our dog was abandoned by his past three owners until we adopted him to give him his forever home - so he is naturally very protective and has trauma from being left. When I bought this over a year ago we did so in the hopes it would only be needed for a week or so; and it was! After the first week of us leaving him for an hour or two with the collar on he learned to stop barking/whining whenever we left the house and it caused him no pain at all just uncomfortable vibrations similar to putting your phone to your neck when somebody's calling you. So we didn't need to use the collar anymore after about the first six days of use.A year onwards and he's now a very good boy when it comes to leaving him home-alone, he will give you his paw and the sad eyes and sit next to the door as you leave; but no more mischievous behaviour!

It worked
My pup is very verbal, one sound in the garden and he will be barking like mad. I got this in the hope that he would just chill out a bit and stop barking and it is in no way harmful to him.Day 1 he barked and it beeps, he was looking around but it did stop his barking for a bit. As the day went on he barked again, this time pretty much ignoring the beeps and then it vibrated. This scared him, he didn't know what it was and instantly stopped barking.During that week he learnt one bark was a beep but more and he will get a little vibration and stopped himself. We are about four weeks in now and he is like a different dog. The only problem we have is that it seems to go off when the other dog barks

It’s okay?
My dog only wears it when I know people are coming home. She’s worn it for a week now and has got use to the noise, the vibration she stops. So just wish I was able to use the vibration setting only. Also it does miss some loud barks, if your dog does soft barks or “woofing” there’s no chance of setting it off.If your dog does constant loud barks, this may work for you, but keep the box incase it doesn’t work so you can return it if not.

Meh.
My dog likes to bark at everything so I thought this might help.. when he barks, it beeps.. making him bark more and when it does vibrate (it doesn’t vibrate a lot) he looks around confused then continues to bark. It’s not the best I’ll be honest and it looks super uncomfortable for the dog to wear as there are two spikes that need to be pressed against the dogs throat in order for the collar to work.

Eats batteries.
At first I thought it was great as it really did work. However, it seemed that most times that I needed to use it and got it out the battery was dead. Strange little batteries and not easy to find in the shops. It did come with a spare though which is unusual these days. I binned it though as one day found it getting hot and was worried as this goes near my dog's neck. Don't know if it was the battery going strange or what but didn't want to risk it.

Was an instant response from our King Charles Cav.
Our dog is an excellent family dog with lovely relationships with children and adults alike. No issues when we go out on walks and very sociable with other dogs. One issue she had was barking at animals on tv or when she went for a wee in the garden and therefore distracting herself and taking ages.We tried everything but started to become concerned that she's going to either jump straight into the tv with excitement and hurt herself Or, when she's outside, send the neighbours loopy!I researched dog collars and chose this one. I'm glad I did... the result was instant and unbelievable! As soon as she started barking at the tv, a little noise omitted from the collar. The collar has not gone passed the 1st vibriation, but usually the initial sound deters her action. In fact, she's corrected her behaviour almost immediately. At one point, I started to worry about her mental welfare but she's as happy as always... she now enjoys watching animal programmes!
